So.....................
Per this announcement over on SC Forums, I am making some changes to the place.
I am no longer going to host a Second Life exclusive site. And have withdrawn my intention to seek affiliate status with Linden Lab/Second Life.
The reason I am doing this is because I want to offer something larger and more useful to a bigger community of people. That community will include people from various other virtual worlds and MMOGs out there.
The new Second Citizen will now function as a hub for residents from various worlds to come together and be a part of a community where we all have something similar in common.
It should be a fun experiment at the very least.
I'm advertising here because I know many of you are invovled in worlds outside of Second Life (or have been). And it would be invaluable to me and others to hear your experiences and information from those worlds. Plus I'm still a fan of Second Life, and it's my site so that should count, right?
Anyway, the SC site and forums will hopefully do this: 1) Host interesting discussions from people from a variety of virtual worlds. 2) Provide resources/help via the forums to those who might be curious about virtual worlds, but who haven't joined up yet. 3) Become a community where all enthusiastic online'ers can come together and socialize with likeminded people. 4) Host hooked up rap battles where the likes of Gin and...oh wait, nevermind, forget that one.
My departure from being exclusive to Second Life in no way suggests that I don't like this place anymore. I still own land. I still log in. I still love SL. I just believe that in order to present a fair and impartial community to all MMO'ers, it's only right that I not appear exclusive to any one particular world.
So again, I extend an invitation to you to come over and register. If for no other reason than to provide a strong showing of SLers on there...and of course, to tell others why Second Life is teh shit and all other VR people need to defect from their worlds and join SL.
