Since when do Lindens go into competetive business with residents? Or sell things at all for that matter?

The accounts on SLExchange don't have to be started using an SL avatar name. You should report this to SLExchange tech support.

Something about 'Potbunny' really does not sound like a true Linden. Did you check for a profile inworld?
Sigh, was another Linden account hacked?

This is most likely something that would be best brought to the attention of SLX staff.

Some people do.
If you don't care, don't talk.

I really hate to be a busy body, but I personally rely on this forum to get a list of 3rd party websites.
I believe this forum is for starting threads about your residential website and not for starting discussions about other people's websites.
Let's not encourage SL to shut this place down, too

There is no PotBunny Linden.
As far as I know, none of us has any knowledge of "striping experiences", whatever they might be.
Yes, this forum is meant to be about resident's own websites. This is what it says - "If you have your own site about SL like a blog, social portal, or even forums, you can announce, discuss, and promote it here!".
By all means create a website, Jesse, and highlight such matters.

lawl. Someone brings to the forums details of a resident selling items while falsely representing themselves as a Linden, and what is LL's response? Create a website if you want to tell us about it! (btw, we need a bigger rollseyes icon) You guys really have just given up on even pretending to give a shit, huh?

Needless to say, PotBunny Linden is an imposter. We'll take it up with SLX. Thanks for bringing it to our attention!

Since a while ago. I think the change in policy was announced somewhere around the time Torley became a Linden, not sure. They announced that whereas they used to have a rule that if you became a Linden, you couldn't continue to profit from SL itself, as a resident, they were changing that. They rescinded that rule, they said, because they wanted people to be Lindens who weren't willing to give up their businesses. So now the Lindens not only run SL, and decide all its policies, they also make money from it, too. I objected quite a bit at the time (and recently, on Stratics) about the serious conflict of interest this represents. coco

My source, Macphisto, from Ben Linden on the blogs: -------------------- Friday, March 24th, 2006 by Ben Linden For a while, it was Linden Lab’s policy that employees couldn’t earn money in-world, but we rescinded that when we found people we wanted to hire who had come to depend on money they were making from in-world businesses. http://blog.secondlife.com/2006/03/24/the-amazing-benlinden-man/#more-240 --------------- I read it at the time he posted it. coco

Thanks CoCo. And for anyone who saw my "is this true?" post in answers it was not questioning CoCo's statment but was more in a "How can it be?" fashion.
