SLBoutique.com Sellers: Don't Forget to Update Your Tags!

The new search engine at SLBoutique.com is majorly improved. Sellers, your items will get more hits when you update your tags (keywords) on the web site. We've filled in a few default tags for each seller, but the more and better tags you put in, the more often your items will hit!

We've upgraded the search a Lucene based search, which is similar in style to Google. It ranks using tags and assigns a score to each item.

Check it out when you get a chance - I'm having a lot of fun with it!

Just as an update:

I'm in the process of writing a script which will automatically add tags in addition to the tags we've already added by category. It will do so by examing each word in the item name. If the same word appears in the item description, it will be added as a tag, excluding common words, and words less than three characters long.

I'm trying to minimize the work that will have to be done by our sellers, and I hope this helps.
