Hey gang,

I finally have some free time for the first time in years (2 weeks off at xmas? I love academia!). I've done some major upgrades to some of my products - trivia got a major overhaul, and now, I've done a much needed upgrade to the animated GIF to SL texture conversion tool.

It now handles GIF transparency correctly after quite a battle to get it to work, but it does. Give it a whirl:

As always, it is free, and with transparency now working, a lot more useful. :)

There are still some known issues - the amount of frames in the animated GIF has to be something that will form a grid properly (IE, 49 frames will tile nicely at 7 by 7, 48 frames will tile nicely at 8 by 6, however, 47 frames will NOT tile nicely at 47 by 1), and some GIFs still have frame-to-frame issues that I'm trying to resolve. However, it is a major improvement over all.

Enjoy! Regards,

-Flip

THANK you! I was just wondering about this the other day. What a chore it is to do without your program.

Thanks for the kind words. I also just fixed a bug that would cause progressive animated GIFs to make frames after the first appear with white pixelation. I think just about any GIF will work now! Enjoy! :)

I fear that this will create a tga with a purple fuzzy-halo if purple is set to the gifs transparency.

There's only so much I can do... due to the source limitation of the GIF format. Haloing is something that isn't easy to correct on the fly at all. :)

Maybe choose a different colour for your transparency?

Seriously, this is another fine example of how people in the community give, for the benefit of others, great job :)

The translator isn't working for me tonight. I've used it quite a bit with no problems, but tonight it won't proceed past the initial screen. When I click "process" I am returned to the same screen. Any suggestions?
