Hi all, Out of frustration with the SL Search function, we were looking to find a directory of SLUrls on the net. We found only very few and none very good. So we set out to build one ourselves. In the process, we came up with a name for such a website: "Teleportal". Check it out at www.sltree.com or www.secondlifetree.com. At the moment there's around 200 SLurls, most of them to cool places, and the number is growing steadily. Anyone is invited to submit their own place or their landmarks. Instructions are on the site. Please let us know what you think of it. We kept the site very "light" on purpose so it wouldn't give extra lag while SL-ing. All the best! Brixio

Signed up one of our websites / SLurls but noticed that the links to the websites aren't active, only the SLurl? Seems like you should link the website too, especially in the case of the "blogs" category.
Also, the thumbnail and avatar fields aren't used (?)

Also, the thumbnail and avatar fields aren't used (?) Hi, answering for Brix here... Thanks for your comments everyone. The title (or the teleport button) should work as the link to the websites too. The thumbnails (and extra information), when submitted, can be viewed if you click READ MORE below each entry. Not all entries have them. We wanted to keep the directory light and quick to browse (also for opening it via your profile's web-tab in-world) so we preferred putting the pics in link details. The avatar field we included in the Suggest Link tab so that we'll know who submitted the link in case they need to be contacted, but it's not intended to be visible in the directory. (Submitting anonymously is also possible.) And thanks for posting about us on your blog TD, where you made some good points about the future of the directory and some challenges involved. We'll just have to wait and see. People are already submitting their own links and places on a daily basis now, and maybe users will later on report broken links too. And if the directory stops making sense, it'll go offline - so enjoy it while you can.

Hi TD,
thanks for your interest. I see Salome has answered all your questions.
We use the site ourselves as well, so we may bump into an incorrect listing. However, with already over 300 listings, chances are becoming slimmer.
So here's a plea to everyone: if you use sltree.com and find a slurl that is out of date, drop us a line. If thirty seconds of your time can save 1000 people a minute, I think that's time well invested.
See you around in the metaverse!

PS TD, if you want a link to both your sim (slurl) and your website (www), you'll have to do "suggest link" twice. They belong to different categories anyway, as weblinks are in a separate category.

With more than 500 SLurls it seems we're now the largest web directory of links to SL places - so I wanted to post a collective thank you note to all the people who have been submitting theirs!
All the feedback we've received is appreciated too... Happy to hear many people find the site useful. And we're working on improvements, rest assured!
