although i'm the one that suggested this place to you I am still just watching it. Not trying to give negative publicity simply dont want to get involved in anymore sites that dont control listings well. So until I am satisfied they are doing a better job then their competitors I'm not listing just watching. At first I was gonna list right away then I changed my mind as all kinds of horrible memories came flooding back lol. Let me know how it is there over time and I'm glad you like it.

to be honest i am not a stupid person and this site has taken me nearly two weeks to set up. Sl boutique and slexchange took a day. am still going to give it a try but it is the most un-suer friendly system so far.

From: Kat Sullivan ... it is the most un-suer friendly system so far. ROTFLMAO - What a priceless typo, Kat. Anyway - I've signed up. It'll take a lot to get me away from SLX, though. Update: I've just made my first purchase. A major drawback for me is that you have to be in-world at the time of the purchase. Since my computer is hovering just around the minimum specs mark I risk crashing the client every time I open another program.

the slx you need to be inworld and I think for slboutique you do as well or you dont get the item. They all have this issue so i'm not sure if that is a drawback it seems to be related to how sl works that one not the website functionality.
I actually like to see more of things appear (err more 3rd party sites etc) because it means the other ones have to compete and usually that means better service etc. It forces business in real world to actually try to resolve issues etc.

No you don't. - I'm almost invariably NOT in-world when I shop at either - for the reasons I gave earlier. Last week I broke my rule and bought from SLX while in-world. I lost the item because I crashed before I had a chance to accept it

Then what is that huge pop up saying you can't be busy or away etc and be inworld or you might miss your item?
Not to mention that you get emails stating the client didn't get the item. I would say your just lucky but they slap warnings all over the place to make sure your logged in and not busy or away or you might miss delivery.

This is step 3 on the directions to buy things from SLex on their website 3. Shop 'till you drop! Go to the SL Exchange Marketplace and find the perfect item. Anything you buy is delivered to you immediately in-world, even if you're not logged on!

It's not saying that you need to be in-world, it's saying that if you are in-world then you can't be busy or away. Thus, it's actually safer to purchase from slx when you aren't in-world.

Thus, it's actually safer to purchase from slx when you aren't in-world. heh okay well since i am doing it from memory i am doing the best i can. As i said it may have changed or i may have been wrong since i am not intending to create an account on slx anytime soon to buy from their site because i'm not interested in financing a black market the point is moot. Anyhow have fun on slx i dislike the site and most 3rd party sites at this time. I shop inworld i use slx and other places as window shops these days if i find no inworld shop I dont buy because it can be stolen stuff or garbage and I dont like buying from a glorified catalogue when i subscribe to a platform and buy items to a platform it seems kinda moot again. If and when these 3rd party sites start monitoring the content properly now that they let it get outa hand then I will reconsider my position on the situation in all cases. At this point I use one site slboutique but am in the process of coding an online storefront of my own not for making yet another 3rd party site but for my own stuff. Anyhow as i said if things changed fine however a year ago when i bought something it was not like that to my memory it may have changed but since that's the last time i made a transaction really i can't say all these sites have a basic problem its lack of will to monitor the site for stolen stuff theft because its a lot of work and they like to leave it on the shoulders of the creator but yet charge the creator money to sell their stuff its nonsensical really and if given this situation I prefer to pay the money to LL and sell my stuff in 3d instead of off a website - slsmarts cons at this point everything from a category lists all one one page so it takes forever to download (to early to see about copyright and trademark theft) -sl boutique moderately broken & sells hot goods but at least they dont charge you commission the one upside if and when the site works and the only reason i list there I owe them nothing and they owe me nothing because they dont charge for the service, but in the end have no intention of staying I use their site as a product listing service really and link it to my profile and make no attempt to actually sell from it lol) -slx mean customer support and sells hot goods and charges for the privilege of selling on their site most people think they will die if they dont list there yet the admit to bad business practice on the side of slx but will swallow any ethics they have and list (yeah i read a few threads like that now there sucks but that's reality of the situation at present) -metamart probably the coolest solution except that their warehouses have a low prim limit and i dont want 20 warehouses clogging up my land so i have to pick and choose what i list (yes its an inworld hud cause i like to shop inworld ) but has the same issues as the others or is starting to (selling hot goods due to lack of regulation) take your pick of the evils and run with it as i said in previous threads there is NO good solution at present until there is one I wont be using them. Anyhow that is my list of complaints and i guess I dont understand the not being inworld thing as all products used are used inworld if people crash so badly as to not be able to keep the client running and buying anyhow I wonder about the logic of this since in order to use the thing they will need to login accept the inventory and rez and use it inworld. One day people will react and hopefully try to think about way to limit issues above the one glaring one that they all have by not waiting for them to get out of hand and happen and then throw up their hands because they are trying to hold back a tidal wave and then say they can't control it but use their service anyhow , but rather stop it before it happens and take the time to monitor it and do it right. It IS possible and yes its a full time job and I have one of those already but One day maybe it will click with a person who wants to run a good site and not just a site that is mediochre at what it does which I would assume would be to collect money from merchants and present a quality site that sells only quality items that are not stolen from someone else. I will probably pass out when that day occurs but it will be a welcome thing in SL. /shrug

I sell on SLExchange and am very happy with it, but having seen a post here about this site I figured it could only be good exposure for my goodies so...
I signed up for an account, dropped a little money into it and spent 10 minutes trying to work out how to actually list something for sale. I'm no dummy but nothing should be so difficult.
I gave up, withdrew my cash, tried to work out how to cancel the account and couldn't so left the account open but I don't plan on heading back there anytime soon.
None of which means I wish the site owners anything but much luck and success - perhaps with a little time, the site will become more user friendly.

From: Wilhelm Neumann - slsmarts cons at this point everything from a category lists all one one page so it takes forever to download (to early to see about copyright and trademark theft)
thanks for the feedback Suriyel Dagger

Would it be possible to shop when not in-world? As I said earlier in this thread, I risk crashing the Client any time I open another program while SL's running. Good luck with the site: from a buyer's point of view it was straightforward.

Good luck with the site: from a buyer's point of view it was straightforward. technically you can, we just strongly recommend that you are logged in at the time you make a purchase as there are occasional SL inventory issues, (that I believe we are all familiar with), that may possibly interfere with delivery of your item if you're not logged in. Hope this helps Suriyel Dagger

From: Suriyel Dagger thanks for the feedback Suriyel Dagger Your welcome and honestly I would like to sell on your site but presently my trust in third party services is at an all time low. I like to know I"m protected and when i watch everyone else get ripped off or even griefed via a third party site by threats of having their stuff ripped off and pirated and sold on one which shall remain nameless (and yes I have been threatened with this ) I just kinda give up. Anyhow when people start using services to grief other people its time to say something and call it quits on those sites for awhile. I hope your site becomes the scam free site in which case I would be honoured to list my stuff there. Until then I watch with hope and interest

To me this looks like a clone of SLExchange, though from what I hear from people who have tried to set it up, it is more difficult to use. Couldn't they have at least experimented with a different layout instead of cloning the SLX one?

As a seller currently using slboutique & slexchange aswell as just signing up to slsmart, I have to say slsmart is very simple to setup and sell items, Easy to use itnterface. I like it (so far)
