Rates

Im not one to get into the discussions about what linden lab should do because frankly i dont think they care about my opinion..but something has to be done about the rating system..something more than just getting rid of 6 months or older. I noticed in another thread that pituca chang had some neg rates.. and just now in world i noticed cristiano midnight had more than pituca.. the point is.. what have these people done wrong? i do not know pituca very well but have never heard an ill word about her i have never even seen her do anything that wasnt way above standards.. cristiano, i think i know him quite well and although he speaks his mind very well on the forums he does nothing wrong here or in world.. this is the guy that own animation stores all over and just the other day he gave away folders of his anims to a few newbs for free.. this is the guy that donates like crazy to his money tree..ugh its endless.. i could spend all day naming these two peoples accomplishments and what good they bring to secondlife but the point im getting at is rates are no way to gauge someone. Get rid of them or wipe them all completly.

Go ahead i extend a challenge to you.. think who your sl idol is.. who do you think dedicates the most time to helping? who do you think does the most for secondlife? look at their profile i bet they have neg rates.

Nope. The person I'm thinking of has 0/0/0/0 negs. Though of course I'm not gonna name names cuz it would not suprise me in the slightest to see someone take it upon themselves to rectify that little point. Because people are just like that.

Thank you for the post. Given the fact that all of my neg rates came from an alt attack by one person, with the except of one triple neg rate, which came from a racist freak, I take them as a compliment, honestly. The system is so broken, and more importantly, it doesn't matter anyway. Many people have been neg rate attacked when someone disagrees with them - my long protracted battle over getting Club Elite out of Federal left me with a few negs - big deal. What matters to me are the ratings I have received because someone wanted to thank me for something, or tell me they liked a build or an animation. No amount of neg rates from childish morons are going to detract from that in the slightest.

Its true.. Theres only one person in SL I can think of with no negs... Great post Billy!

I just had a quick scan through the current online list... by the time I got half way down the first page, I'd found 3 people with no negs... and these are people 6-8 months old, not first day newbs.

Some people dont get out though sio so that explains it.. my girl doesnt leave her home much ...

Most of mine came from a pissed off ex- and her alts... and some well... like Pituca and Cris, we all get a few negs from people we've never seen or whatever...
I got a triple neg only the other week, while off-line... no comment of course, and from someone I'd never met.

So am I claiming I don't deserve any of them? Well no, not really... at least no more than I didn't deserve some of my positives... but all but 1, maybe 2 of them where given out of spite or griefing...

Even wittle innocent cherubs get neg rates, sniff.

I've got no neg rates so far...though I have given out a few, most of them to SLA Goons or whatever they were called, and the rest of them to griefers save one which I felt was reasonable and warranted.

I've got 1 neg rating in each category, only because I was at a party where somebody got kicked out for causing a problem and just neg rated everybody there.
