Damn... that is terrible.
People easily forget that anilams like this are wild and you can't "really" trust them not to turn on you. One question though... [SATIRE] Why couldn't this story have been about Bubbles and Michael Jackson? [/SATIRE] _____________________

Chimpanzees are IMMENSELY powerful animals.
An adult chimpanzee can completely dislocate a human hand simply by gripping the wrist. Billy's remark is well taken...wild animals never lose their wildness, and owners can coddle them for years with the delusion that they've established some kind of special relationship with them...only to discover, to their horror, in a split-second incident out of nowhere, just how presumptuous they were. The Vegas magicians Sigfreid and Roy learned that lesson, and now it appears it was this couple's turn. == danny d. |

It wasn't their Moe that attacked them. Four other chimps escaped from their cage and attacked. Their chimp was still in his cage.

Intelligent, strong, and throws its own shit at you. Not exactly the best pet one could have.

[SATIRE] Why couldn't this story have been about Bubbles and Michael Jackson? [/SATIRE] Maybe it happened to Michael too- ever seen a close up photo of his face? Seriously, though, Jackson set a terrible example by getting (and publicizing) a pet chimp. As others have pointed out, they're cute as youngsters but strong, dangerous and unpredictable as adults. Even Moe (the former pet who didn't attack) had a rap sheet for biting strangers. An "pet" chimp often spends much of his adult life in a cage or chained up to keep him out of trouble, which to me sounds like an unhappy existance. _____________________

Do you think it's possible that the other two chimps were upset because Moe was having a birthday party and they weren't invited?
Nah..... ![]() _____________________

Do you think it's possible that the other two chimps were upset because Moe was having a birthday party and they weren't invited? Nah..... ![]() Later in the article, a chimp expert suggested the very same thing. But ape expert Deborah Fouts, director of the Chimp and Human Communication Institute at Central Washington University, said the attack may have been prompted by an emotion that chimps may share with humans: jealousy. "Chimpanzees have a real sense of right and wrong and fairness and unfairness," said Fouts, who has worked with chimps for four decades. "It sounds like people were showering a lot of attention on Moe, birthday cake and the likeā¦. Perhaps the other chimps were jealous of Moe." _____________________
