I just watched the BBC 'factual-drama' about the supervolcano erupting under under Yellowstone and bringing the US (and the world) to it's knees. Terrible acting but interesting story line. One of the most interesting points was the President was a white middle aged woman. Since it was set in the very near future, I wonder if the BBC is predicting Mrs Clinton will be president.

That volcano if/when it blows, could be disastrous. I found this interesting graphic on the volume of historic eruptions compared to other notable volcanic eruptions:

And in my neck of the woods - the USDA Forest Service's web site has static pics updated every 5 mins. or so of Mt. Saint Helens, which continues to be active.
