How do you find the time to spend on Second life?

I'm sure most of us have lives (I hope so :D) but what kind of circumstances allow you to devote so much to this virtual world? Surely you sacrifice time and energy and maybe other things...
You don't have to answer this, but, do you do it out of curiosity, loneliness, necessity, insanity, etc?

I'm asking too many personal questions

I have a lot of time on my hands... because I basically work full-time and go home. I recently moved to New Jersey and it gets lonely here as well :o But Im planning to go to college and reinvent my life...guess what that means!

SL is entertainment for many of us. Its just as easy and frequently more rewarding spending two hours in world than it is going out to a movie. SL is cheaper in that regard as well. How many movies can you go to or rent for $10 a month? Will they provide you with the potential of 720 hours entertainment? Ok, you got to sleep, lets say 700 hours.

I suppose many of us spend the time we would be watching TV or doing something else in SL instead.

I work fulltime and still get to spend a decent ammount of time in sl. it's all about time management.

Before sl i used to watch alot of tv in the evenings, now i tape the shows i love and play sl instead. i watch the shows when it's convenient for me (like dinnertime) and it works perfectly!

Having a real life doesn't mean that you can't have a decent sl life too, and vica versa.

Even 1 or 2 hours an evening on sl is plenty. and on weekends i get more time and can still go out IRL.

I quit my job in Europe and came to Asia.

Last month I earned about 300usd, and my cost of living here is about 300usd/month, so that sortof works out.

My work schedule is very sporadic. For the last six weeks, for example, I was pulling 10 to 11 hour days, six or seven days a week. Now I have a bunch of time off (until the next rl project kicks in) so I'm on the loose in sl all the time.:D

My situation is like Olympia's. I'm self employed and work at home. There are a few months during the year when I'm busy on RL work projects, but then I may not have work again for a month or three. I'm able to devote much of the free time to SL, and now that it pays for itself plus a bit extra I don't feel guilty about it :)

hmm, i try to go on before i go to bed. but that's not very smart seeing that i'll stay up three to four hours longer when i do that.

i splurge on the weekends. go on a SL binge. it usually depends on what time i get home from an evening out but it usually runs from 11pm to how long my eyes stay open next morning. this last holiday weekend, i believe i was up til 8am. yeah, i think i've got a problem. lmao

I actually don't spend that much time on SL. I work 7 days a week (55 hrs. a week) and go to school part time. After I get home, I eat (for like an hour) and then do stuff everyone has to do--groceries, clean, toilet, whatever. I try to go to bed before 9:30 pm. Let me see. . . I go out once or twice a week. Other times I'm too tired and just veg watching some TV. I still love playing BF1942. I also try out other computer games but I still love BF1942. However, I spend more time reading--all kinds of stuff including the posts on the SL forums. In fact I spend more time per week on the SL forums than in SL. Go figure.

*edit:it's 55 hrs. a week not 65*

I'll bet a good few play SL at "work" :)

I usually find time for TV as well as SL - often both at the same time.

Of course, getting hooked to some event and staying up til 2am doesn't help in the morning,
