On my quest for fellow wild Chocobos of SL, I travelled to the sim of Nowall.
Upon entering this sim, I felt as though I had entered a new dimention, something was wrong... something BIG... or small? I'm not quite sure but either this was the land of the giants or i had shrunk!
The first item of interest that I came across was a large sucker, I coudn't help but feel drawn to this, everlasting sucker... but no, I mustn't let myself get distracted.
So here I was, searching for a chocobo friend, in a place that makes me feel smaller than a sylkis seed, feeling more alone than ever, and I find a groupe of humas (I think) around my size... as I creep towards them I can hear the clashing of shields and swords, and before I know it I am stuck in the middle of some slow motion battle.. I daren't ask anyone if they had seen a fellow Chocobo, so instead, I flee into a nearby drawer.
After resting for a few hours, I decided to go and look a little more and to my surprise I found a chocobo egg, just sitting there in the wild! I quickly looked around for any sign of the parents, but to no avail. This egg was just sitting there, waiting for someone to come and take care of it.
If you go to the place I pictured, you can take this egg for free, it contains a baby chocobo for you to love. Please take care of it!

That's so cool.
EDIT: Oh yeah! That's Starax's place!
No egg, but heaven is cool. No clue how to legally get in there... I had to edit my way in.
EDIT2: Oh, wait, found the way in. Man there's all sorts of secrets in here.

I can't even say how awesome this is. I'm not, like, a big Final Fantasy nut or anything, but this made me feel like a little kid, haring off after some ultra-cool collectible. Thank you, Thank you Thank You! Chocobo, for this super-cool way to add a bit of extra flavor to Second Life. I don't know how elaborate Chocobo's quest will become, but you know what would be ultra-super-cool? Some sort of chained series of hints, where each time an egg is found and claimed, a marker is left in its place, and the marker gets updated when the next egg appears. Touch the marker, and you get a clue, a hint, maybe a photo of where the new egg is. It would be sort of like geo-caching for SL.....and the later, rarer breeds of chocobos become harder to find, as the "hunters" have to go from one clue to the next, working their way around the world. I'll update this post when I'm back at my home 'puter, with a pic of the freshly-hatched little critter. Wark! Heh, don't ever say that it's not worth getting up early for work and checking in on the forums "just to see if anything is going on".

I want to ride a Chocobo while having the techno remix of the theme song play... gallop through Busy Ben's Vehicle Lot and through the meadows beyond... that would be such a trip. Chocobo Charlton, you are the chizzle to the final fizzle. You got mad skillz like a bizzle mizzle and keep it funky fresh with yo' feathas. I like your theme of adventure... small bird in a big world! Have Chocobo, will travel. Oh wait, that's YOU! *hugs the Choccy*
