Ok, I looked over the website, and read their FAQ. Before I start up an account and test the waters with this virtual market, I need to get a few newb questions out of the way. Perhaps some of you who have first hand experience with GOM can help me.

1) Does it really work?
2) Say I've given them (GOM) my money that I want to sell, and choose to do so. How long will it take for me to get paid in US$?
3) Is there a limit or cap as to how much US$ I can actually make?
4) Can you please give me some Linden$. I'm poor and need to start up my new bussiness endeavour.

I think that I have the basic idea of it all down. You give them L$ in game, they credit that to your account, you choose to sell X blocks of L$, and if a user buys your stock then you get paid. Also, if this is correct, do they have to buy your specific listing of L$ or does it go by a list of who was first in line.

Thanks for the help, L$ or otherwise. :D

1) Without a doubt
2) Once your trade has been executed and your L$ have been converted to US$, you can withdraw your US$. The site says to expect 24-48 hours, but in practice, Ricky does payouts every evening, so you can usually expect money in your Paypal account by the next morning.
3) Nope
4) GOM works the other way too... Pay in US$ and get your L$, and start your business that way.

Thanks for the quick reply, Ace! :)

Jetta, if you haven't done so yet, you should also check out our instruction page. It has step-by-step directions of exactly how GOM works.

Please feel free to IM me in-world if you have any other questions.

If you come to our main branch in Shinda (do a "find places" for "GOM" and we'll be listed) there are two ATMs there. We're right by the Shinda telehub.

Simply follow the "link avatar" instructions on the GOM instructions page when you get there.

And, we do intend to drop more ATMs in the near future. Zeppi's in the process of paring them down to a more reasonable number of prims, and we don't want to drop too many before the new version comes out.

I would use GOM a lot also, if only they would Fire Pay Pal.

What does it matter to you if they have PayPal as an option? You do not need to use it if you don't want to.

If you want to deposit cash to your GOM account, you can send a cheque or money order, or pay online with PayPal, e-gold, or YowCow. In order to use PayPal, you must have a verified PayPal account and a Second Life avatar associated with your account. Deposits from unverified accounts or accounts without linked avatars will be returned.

If you want to withdraw cash from your GOM account, you will need either a PayPal, e-gold, or YowCow account, or you can request a money order.
