And where can we see an actual list of the people we referred?
And if we can't get free SL shirts, how bout putting up a link to where we can buy em? (I believe it's on the slvisions website who had em in a Cafepress store?)

Arti Arti, if you go to the Vive La Evolution web page it tells you that you need to claim your t-shirt by sending email. They then verify that you have the requisite number of referrals and send you your shirt. I'm just waiting for one more friend to get hooked... On the subject of referrals, I noticed an interesting, and as far as I know, undocumented fact concerning referred friends and calling cards. When someone lists you as the referral, their calling card is automatically placed in your inventory even though you've never met them in-world. And the card goes at the very bottom of your list, when sorted by date. One way to see who you've referred is therefore to look at the bottom of your calling card folder. _____________________

Don't.. ah ... expect a great deal of enthusiasm from the Lindens. When I won I had no idea until Bud showed up to take pictures for the web site. I was told then I had won but got no details. I, later that evening, recieved a short email stating that the person in charge was at a convention and would not be back until the following week.
The following week I claimed my land in Uba and saw I was now a lifetime member according to my account. I also found I would have to pay tiers on the land I had gotten with my PAID anual account and not to expect a refund on the balance of my account, 8 months worth. (although the first winner did recieve a refund). After pointing out to them that I had won 4096m2 not 3584m2 until May 2005, they grugingly allowed me to keep my land until the account expired in 8 months but no credit, no refund. Nice of them to let me keep the land I paid for, hmmm. Oh, I also got a t-shirt. Surprised the heck out of me that I didn't have to pay shipping and postage on it. As LL matures as a company I'm sure this sort of thing will become a thing of the past, or at least I hope so. Also, I hear you saying, "Cry me a river, you lucky bastard." I'm not complaining, only offering information. And you are right, I am a lucky bastard  |

Artillo - if you've referred 5 people you definitely earned your shirt, so I'll check on Monday and we'll take care of it.
If you want to buy a shirt, the Cafe Press store that SL Visions started can be found at http://www.cafepress.com/slvisions. Eggy - I don't think we have any t-shirts left, but I'll see if I can find you a poster! As for the current winner, we'll announce it next week. _____________________

Haha, just read the sweepstakes rules. They force you to fill out a 1099 for winning the sweepstakes. That means if you win you must pay roughly 30% of the value of the package to the IRS (depending on US residency status and a couple of other things) because it's $625 value is $25 over the $600 threshold that requires a 1099. If they had valued the package at $599 it would have saved the winner $200.
