If I understand you correctly, you already own 512m of land with a premium membership? If that is the case, and you want to buy another 512m plot, you will be charged an additional US$5 per month to hold that land. The prices go up exponentially from there. If you click on the "My Account" link at the top of the site pages, you can look at all of the possible teirs by click on "Land Use Fees" on the side menu. Hope that helped!

Right. To avoid additional costs you would have to sell the first plot before purchasing the new plot. If you own 1024m of land, you will have to pay that land tier fee for the entire month, even if you sell off the extra 512m tomorrow to bring your land back down to the 512m tier.
If you plan on having more land than you really want, its better to do it after the first of the month, since you get charged for the whole month anyway. That way, you have a whole month to sell the land you dont need. If you do it at the end of the month and you hold it into the next month, you will have two months of higher land tier fee instead of just one.
If you actually want to own 1024m, the cheapest way to go is to pay for your premium account in one lump sum. There are three, six, and twelve month plans. Its cheaper like that and you would only have a monthly fee of $5 to pay for the extra land tier.
