Today I logged in and my avatar had changed to "the invisible man" -- just a name in orange letters hanging in the air with nothing under it! I went where several other people were, and some of them were also invisible or partly invisible -- to me -- they didn't seem to know it and one made a remark that indicated he could see me. I logged out - and back in - and same thing. I dropped a saved appearance onto myself - no change. What was happening? I felt very under-dressed, being without a skin or anything

medlar, When that happens, go into appearance mode, and then close. Usually the AV does appear. Last night, I had a goatee floating around me until I figured out who it was.

Changing your active group will also fix this. (Make unintentionally invisible avatars visible again.)

Logging in/out several times didn't do it... I don't know how to change my active group (do I have one?) but I went into Preferences and changed some of the options for rendering of the avatar and then it came back.
