The Phobos Project: Started 14th March 2004 Owner: Damien Fate The purpose of the Phobos Project was to help the community grow by showing newcomers a helping hand, fun, prizes and ultimately help them on their decision of "should I stay or not?" in SL. It was a fun project, which I enjoyed immensely, I held newcomer show and tells, newcomer raffles and Q+A events in this strangely designed, but beautiful place. I also hosted a 1$ store, which still to this day is used daily by newcomers, and I am thankful to all the wonderful creators who donated to the store, without a second thought But, as time went on, I found that I had less and less time to commit to maintaining the Phobos Project, and the stage was left unused, apart from the odd event which others would host there. So the time has come, for it to change ownership. I didn't want to sell to the "public" as I beleived the right owner could get a lot of enjoyment from the work I put into the area. As of 6th November, 2004 (my first SL birthday) the ownership of the Phobos Project has changed. Thanks to Hank Ramos and the SLU group for taking over this project, I hope that you make great use of it, and newcomers continue to benefit from it until the day SL ends

Damien, the Phobos Project is most excellent. I point newbies there all the time for the $1 store. It's a great place to get them started. Most important, IMO, is the idea - the generosity and time spent by people who DO know their way around, helping out people who don't. That's the way it should work, I think. Thanks again! I also know that when you turn it over it's in good hands..

Damien! Emmy! wheeee... happy shiny people. I'd like to thank Damien for the Phobos Project and I look forward to it's continuation under Hank Ramos (designer of that damned addictive Skunk Money) and SLU. I remember when I first came in SL, I didn't know how to get clothes out of boxes, it was maddening. And it's funny to see so many names then that I have eventually gotten to know inworld and on here (but I prefer inworld hehe)... mu ha ha ha. I could never get the oracle to work though? :|
