HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO!
This is my favorite time of year, I love getting in my car and cruising down Federal headed towards downtown Denver and seeing all the low riders, big trucks... all sporting thier mexican flag and blasting to spanish jams!
Once you get into downtown you see all types of cultural events and costumes! It's great!
Three years ago, my sister and I were on the local news, we were stopped by the police for "disturbing the peace", our vehicle was impounded and we were not allowed to go home unless there was another way to get there besides Federal Blvd. (which there wasn't) At this time Denver was very strict when it came to Cinco De Mayo and it wasn't a very supportive holiday, but since then, they seemed to have lightened up a bit.
Does anyone celebrate Cinco de Mayo? Any big events happening in your city/state/country?

I live in San Diego where there are a ton of celebrations going on throughout the city. Being half Mexican, it makes me proud to celebrate the day Mexico took a stand against the French and defeated them.
*raises margarita glass in a toast*

In honor of Cinqo de Mayo I have made Margarita's. I have a small and a Grande. Stop by Urusula's Place and take a copy. It's an open bar on my deck. Enjoy!

In honor of today I think I'll drop by a little Mexican place here and pick up a quart of salsa. They make the best I've ever had. I don't even like salsa and I could drink a glass of this stuff. Hmm...
/me makes a note, "Salsa...and...tequila...try...it..."
