Litterers - Don't like 'em in real life, don't like 'em here.

Has anyone else seen the about 3-4 dozen slot machines and sex toys spread throughout the world on land that doesn't belong to him by someone by the name of Kane?

I can't stand litterers in real life, the last place they need to be is here too. At least in real life if I see litter on someone else's land I can help them out and remove it for them. Here, I can only look helplessly as this mooch slaps his crap around in some vain attempt to make money. Even worse the slot machines he's dropping all over the place is the open source blue and gray one, and he's selling them. I feel sorry for newbies and others who don't know better who buy a copy.

There are six of them on an island near my apartment... unfortunately the owner of the land hasn't been online for a while... *sighs*

Unfortunately nothing can be done unless the land owner says something. As far as I know...

You can add vehicles to that too - one regularly appears near my plot on Linden Land - for sale. I can't stand litter either.

Excellent question!

My advice to folks - set return objects on your land if you are able, if that doesn't fit in with the way you want your land to work, delete his objects (not return) and then ban him from your property.

Enough people do it, he may just get the message.

He dropped them all over Mavericks as well - I deleted about 10 of them - there was one sitting on top of a neighbor's house as well, and there is still one right on the edge of the next sim. Interesting to see that it has happened all over the place. I didn't think to abuse report it, because I am constantly cleaning up crap on my land. * sigh *

Didn't notice any slot machines or vehicles on my lot, last night, but yes -- I regularly auto-return ~100 - 150 objects 2-3 times a week. Yes, it's a real pain, especially because I am not in-world every day. However, I have to leave build turned on for group vendors...

Stuff like that really annoys me. Luckily we have autoreturn on so I don't have to worry about it too much anymore.

Wow, how odd! I found a slot machine at my mall just the other day in a space that hadnt been rented out..and it was owned by this person! It was returned, of course..but we were curious as to why it was there in the first place.

I'd always assumed the Lindens could do a global de-rez of arbitrary objects, once they had a key, or a name, or something to work with.

I take it from the last Town Hall that's not the case. I think it's a matter of nagging the closest gridmonkey you can find if something like this is right in your face. I guess the rest of it just sits around until the account times out, the grace period lapses, the land reverts, and a new owner returns everything in sight

You could, of course, cover the machines with a larger prim. Maybe texture the prim in a way that blends with the surroundings until the land owner can delete the unwanted objects.

I use to love flying around SL high in the sky. I have now noticed its FULL of trash. I dont mean peoples sky homes, I mean trash the prims that got away. I wish there was a syetem to report and have this cleared, as if LL has the time. I tried IMing the owners sending landmarks most 99% dont seem to care. What is most suprising is the owners of much of these are not newbies. Many are predominate members of SL. If anyone finds loose prims of mine floating in the world please let me know.

Something similar happened to me a long time ago. A player placed one of those freebie cabins and put it for sale between my land and my neighbors. Since the parent prim was on my neighbor's land I couldn't delete the item, even though most of the cabin was on my land. I send a message to a Linden but he was reluctant to help since the main prim was on someone else's land (if memory serves me right, what I got was an answer along the lines of "well, it doesn't count on your prim limits, you know that right?". Thankfully I was able to contact my neighbor and she deleted the item. I sent a message to the owner stating that what he did was not right and that if he did it again, I would file an abuse report. It didn't happen again, so I take it he got the message.

On a related note....if anyone sees a "Reaper" plane with my name on it...please send me a landmark or autoreturn it to me if you can. I was ejected from it while flying two days ago and I would have thought that it would have come back to my inventory by now. I bought this for 100 and it is no copy so...I'm pretty much out of luck without it. Trust me...you CAN'T MISS IT if you go past it....bad part is...I don't remember at all where I lost it since my passenger was stuck in it for some distance before she was eventually glitched out of it.

Anyways I let friend play who was putting slot machines everywhere even worse he was selling them somone else work.
