Anyone else see this new Bill Murray flick? Although there were a couple of scenes that had me in LMAO mode, for the most part I thought it was rather disjointed and kinda dull. The humor was way too subtle most of the time, and without giving away the ending, let's just say this movie wasn't Caddy Shack meets Leopard Shark.

I'd give it 2 1/2 stars out of 5.

I saw it when it first came out with my teenage daughter and her boyfriend. There were many moments where I felt like I was the only person in the theatre laughing out loud! They both had the look like a deer in headlights - and afterward said they were trying to figure if a scene was actually funny or downright peculiar / nonsensical. You're right when you say it is definitely off-beat and the humor is very very subtle. Many times, I couldn't tell you why I was laughing, but I did. It was a strange mixture, and a unique film. I think I give it a big two thumbs up just because it was not the typical formulaic Hollywood movie ... and that I still think of some scenes and giggle. Again ... I'm a sucker for deadpan humor and films that take me somewhere I've never been before. Not for eveyone though!!

Hehe, you're right on! It is by NO means a formulaic Hollywood flick. And you know what's sick? The scenes that had me laughing out loud the most involved Cody, the three-legged dog. I suppose that implies a call to a shrink is in order. ;)

PS: For those of you who saw Murray's Lost in Translation, you will find some striking parallels between these two films, though they have very little in common WRT a story line.

I enjoyed it. From the topless script girl to Jeff Goldblum declaring he was "part gay."

I am making my next SL short video with the same travelogue fonts, etc.

The best part for me was recognizing the David Bowie songs that were being sung in Portuguese by the guitarist, Seu Jorge. They are available on itunes and on the soundtrack. I highly recommend them.
