I have a 7-day 80-120 hour work week every week. Beat that! I'll be studying throughout the holiday season since my finals start on january the 2nd! And they tell me that when I graduate and finally gain the privilege of being able to work a normal 5-day 40 hour work week, then I will really know what working means!

Yoshi, why just Europe and Asia - what about the rest of the world? After all, its only America that has Thanksgiving.

Only pending and current holidays. Says so right here As for turkey, you're right; about twice a year is my limit. But when you need it, you need it. We're talking decades of cultural conditioning, here. - yoshi

Latonia I felt it important to take out certain areas with a pre-dawn preemptive strike. But the morning is still young, and my staff are scheduling hourly addenda to the gloat list as we speak. - yoshi

- yoshi Hey! Where's my free turkey? BTW, my family never did the traditional Turkey 'n' relatives thing for thanksgiving anyway. When we were kids we'd make sandwiches and go on a picnic in the woods. Now that we're adults, we get together to go to the horse races and/or go out for chinese food.

*smirk* A U.S. citizen bragging about three days off? I guess you haven't seen the statistics! Here's a list of average vacation lengths for several industrialized countries: Italy 42 France 37 Germany 35 Brazil 34 Britain 28 Canada 26 South Korea 25 Japan 25 U.S.A 13
Wiped that smirk off your face, didn't it? ~Ulrika~

Squeek in Norway w 38 days on the top 3 Also we have 9 months w full salary pregnancy leave (12 months w 80% pay). Fathers get 4 weeks and this is to be increased. We also have 4 times x 3 days of sickness leave w/o doc's notice. No wonder i feel like a lazy bum, but hey! life *should* be a lot more than hard work - for everyone!

~Ulrika~ *howls* and replaced it with a gaping crater Actually, I suspected I had that coming. I worked with a British expat very early in my career who bemoaned our lack of holidays. He said something along the lines of "You Yanks pay better money, but who cares, if you never take the time off to do anything with it?!?" I think his prior position had provided something like six weeks' total holiday, or thereabouts. I remember being bitterly envious - yoshi
