I cant Fathom anyone with a NORMAL income shelling out $200 a month for a Sim. When I first started second life last summer I had a nice long conversation with Mr. Philip about buying a sim. I had no idea that 1.2 was coming either. I would rather see Sl sell the server software at this point and let us go at it by connecting to the grid when we want to like so many other games allow . In my opinion matters are now worse .The following corrections really need to be made .
1. Land allotment changes.
Monthly users 1024 sq m FREE Quarterly 2048 sq m FREE Yearly 4096 sqm FREE Lifetime 8192 sq m FREE
The current allotments are too small to do anything with, hence my absense from the game recently .

i've wondered the whole time why they didn't up the land allotment for quarterly and yearly subscribers. it seems to be an oversight. perhaps it's one of the "benefits" we premium members will be given in the "future."

Actually Max Its more of a size Issue. 1024 sq m is really too small to build much of anything. The nice 2 story house I have won't even fit on the lot . I just think the scales here are too small. The holodeck takes 4096 sq m . Now I see land being sold for US $ and you STILL have to pay the allotment fees. I simply think double what they offer now is better but far from a solution. The prim heavy builds are normally stores. Linden Labs is going to have to find the happy medium. I feel sorry for the Lifers as they got the worst end of the deal.
As for the server bits, I still think a Personal MINI SErver would fit the build as 1 computer could serve many 16383 sq m mini sims. Do them as Islands so they dont have to talk to their neighbors. That would cut bandwidth tremendously. Think about it .
