Dear SLers, Last few days i have been really busy setting up a Mall. Its at Ritch , a long stretch of road with my own workshop, another big building and some booths.
Well those double booths are for rental for 300L$ a week.
Single Booth for 150L$
Floor on the big mall building for 500L$ a week
Also available on order customised appartments to live.
Plots on the road for your own shop building if qualified with the Mall guidelines.
Feel free to have a look around and IM me if you have any questions.

Jebus, $500? Good luck! Back when the Americana theme was still alive I had a giant mall where people could sell stuff for free I built a new mall now, in a better spot near the aqua border and as soon as cori gets my sign done it will be open again

Having malls around the world is a good thing. I for one never go south of Boardman unless I have a mentor event. If more ppl are as homey as me we need a mall in every second sim I am keeping my eyes open for new places atm trying to figure out weather to build and outlet of La Piazza Stores or to rent. For that price I might wanna take the taxes and the fun about building tho...

Actually with the new dedicated shopping sim coming up soon I think the player-run malls will lose some of their meager popularity

Eggy and Matina,
I agree with both on the subjects you pointed out. One thing though that rental or buy price of something depends on many different factors. (ie Area with lights or not lights, advertised mall or not, roads and paveways exist? plants? Mall attendee? Scheduled events? etc.). So (i believe) rental price is something that the buyer or renter should judge after getting a complete picture of the services promised.

From: someone Originally posted by Eggy Lippmann Actually with the new dedicated shopping sim coming up soon I think the player-run malls will lose some of their meager popularity I was thinking that at first too, but then again I am not so sure. I have noticed that my Boardman stall sells very well and so does the shops in Mauve - why shouldnt there be room for more than one "mall-sim"? Also Aqua was pointed out as the shopping center by the Lindens and they even had (have?) a teleport from the welcomming area to where I had placed my stall in Aqua. Thing is I had 1 sale there per 15 in Boardman and Mauve. We, Cai and I, checked this for a while by marking the items (B) Boardman, (A) Aqua and (M) Mauve as we were selling the exact same items in the 3 sims - only the Mauve one had all of our range while the other two had a selection of the range. Also if we were to go only 1 place for our shopping there would be quite some lag and the fun about shopping would be gone - at least for me. I have also noticed - as Baki is pointing out as well - that if you can attract a crowd by hosting events or just hanging around the place - more people will show up and that is good for business. Both for selling and dwelling. When I said I thought the pricing was high I was comparing to the La Piazza apts in Mauve that also includes a 4x4 stall for selling nand the use of the stage - where the total is $310SL per week. It is placed next to a telehub and event stage in a busy area. Anyway - I wish us all good luck with our businesses! PS thanks for your compliment Siobhan - much appreciated

Matina, I haven't bothered with setting up a stall in Aqua. There has been so much empty space there due to land speculators buying up choice property around Avatar Central and then asking a ridiculous selling price for it. Phooey on that.
I have stuff for sale at my own shop in Tan and at Rathe's SL Mall in Clara. I find my sales are divided about equally between the two locations, perhaps weighted a bit more heavily toward the shop in Tan.
And by the way, Viola, shelah, Siggy and I all have shops in Tan, and there is still room for more shops there. We get a lot of north-south traffic since we're smack-dab in the middle of SL, even after the advent of the telehubs.

Oh edit: I think I get it now! If I did you didnt read my post accurate tho I so will copy/paste the price stuff again: " ...)comparing to the La Piazza apts in Mauve that also includes a 4x4 stall for selling nand the use of the stage." Apartments, stall and use of stage = $310SL Can't compare ourselves to "free-ride-Eggy" tho @Eggy --- btw Baki you should add the address more than just Ritch - easier to find right away Maybe also the size of the booths would be good for future renters

I have been looking there as well and not diosposed off the idea - but till now both my places in Boardman and Mauve is doing so well I was thinking of an outlet south of the world. Thanks for sharing tho

Sorry Matina i was afk. Yes thats what i meant , i misread your article about appartment including stall ,sorry again. Well how i went to this price . I took all the land area ,dedicated to the mall, and divided its tax to the 14 available rental booths or mall floors. My point is not making L$ on the mall but rather easying the tax burden i am gonna have in a while.Starting point was having a more like commercial sphere where my shop is situated.
And yes you are right about posting the address more detailed but i cannot get in to copy it lol.
And last comment maybe i am a mall owner for the next half an hour(see taxes) ,seriously thinking resizing it down and renting a shop at your places ....

I saw your place this morning Baki - it is really nice set up but unfortunately - tax wise - covers a huge plot of land all together. I understand very well the need of getting the tax covered without necessary making an profit of it. That is why we have apts on top of each other - dont need too much land.
When Cai and I first started in Aqua we ran into that problem - our taxes were lots higher than our income sales + bonus and stipend. We decided to take it all down for a while, till we had started making a regular income and could afford all our dreams.
Took us a few months and now we have Mauve and can afford the place. We cant afford all our dreams tho and most likely and hopefully(!!) never can.
What ever you chose to do Baki - dont stop believing in your dreams and you are a creator here. Just making money in this game is not as easy as many otehr places. So sometimes you just have to graps a bit at the time.
Heck for that matter - what do I know! Maybe they are all rented by tomorrow!

Yeah, Aqua was really taking off as the shopping capital of SL, but the land speculators pretty much stopped the growth. It's still very good for shopping though. I get twice the sales from my Aqua store as I get anywhere else I sell.

i don't like the idea of the lindens opening a shopping sim. i believe that's the kind of thing that ought to be player driven. malls open and close based on rents, services, general popularity, the number of prims available for dealers to rez inventory, and the ability of the owners to pay the taxes.
the lindens owning "the" mall is just hand holding imho. i'm excited to see new enterprises spring up all over the place. best of luck to everyone.

I agree that I am not so certain if I will like a Linden made "Mall Sim", but I am willing to see how it goes before I pass judgement. Who knows, if we really hate it, all the sellers can just bocott selling there and then the place would go belly up. I do like seeing shops in a variety of Sims. And now with the map option to see icons of places where there are "Objects for Sale", plus the Find option that includes shops who pay weekly to have their place listed, well... I have no trouble finding places to buy things. Plus by having shops dotted all over, I run across other great builds to admire just while I'm out browsing. My Boutique & Gallery in Federal do very well, and I'm on the edge of the map far from a Telehub. I think if you offer a good product or service, people are willing to fly the extra distance to find you. It doesn't take *that* long. I also have rented a booth in Baki's Bridge Mall, and even though it has not officially opened yet, I have already made some great sales. It has shown me too that what I want in the future is to maintain my own shop, and then rent stalls from other malls or small spaces from smaller shops. This also keeps the money flowing back into the economy. So maybe if a "Mall Sim" pops up, perhaps it will not hurt the existing businesses. It may be just another great way to give businesses an opportunity to place a few items and advertise for their main place.

One of the goals of a Linden shopping sim is to allow a lot of sellers to particpate at a relatively low cost -- and use it not only as a way to sell directly but to publicize and attract people to their other stores and shopping centers.
