There are many who make Linden and in ther are times when demand for Linden is down so there is a panic and people rush to sell and for a cheaper price. Just like stocks the price goes down and but it picks up slowly. *hint hint buy low sell high* Its a fact of demand but not many know you can buy Linden to begin with and once they do the average person buys over 20k or 50-100 dollars. I believe with Linden being now backed up by ebay it will give a huge boost to Linden value because more people will have assessablity to Linden. Provided that not everyone and thier grandmother floods the buyers with Linden sales. Any thoughts? I also do see a down side but keep those thoughts to myself I think its out of denial and a defense mech.

Either there are some massive leaps of judgement in what you've written or I've missed a meeting. Why will people have more accessibility to Lindens because of eBay? Who said eBay were the backers? They're not, one of the founders of eBay is (big difference!). How do you know the average person buys 20-50k of Lindens? Are you suggesting people will be able to buy on eBay with Lindens (you can't really be thinking this, surely)?

I just feel that with ebay, Linden money can be auctioned off giving more exposure to the game and to the demand of buyers.

A founder of ebay is involved, not ebay themselves. I think this has been repeated about Eleventy-billion times, yet still gets associated with "OMGLOL 8MIL EBAY ROXOR KTHX@!!!!" still.

*sigh*

Linden money can be auctioned off??? OK, phew, I obviously didn't miss a meeting, your leaps of judgement are just way out of left field.

Which part of "and with participation from Omidyar Network, a new organization led by eBay founder, Pierre Omidyar" don't you understand means that's it's not eBay investing, it's the bloke who founded eBay investing from a totally seperate company, don't you understand?

Not sure what I'm saying? Wow.

I suppose Lindens could be auctioned off, much like gold or items in other MMOGs, but why would you want to? GOM and IGE exist now, are a bit more stable, you're "guaranteed" your L$, and they're designed to handle L$.

Just because the FOUNDER of eBay has donated some money to LL doesn't mean that the users of SL are going to start suddenly using eBay. The ones that care enough to sell their L$ are going to continue to use the services they always have. GOM and IGE.

I need to read news more often? I read the news and understood it, which it appears you haven't. Lindens won't be auctioned off in a million years. End of story. Full stop. Why? Because if Linden Lab hold out any hope of a thriving economy in Second Life, they wouldn't auction money off, thus flooding it with money. The "websites" you refer to where you can be Lindens, isn't money that's just generated out of thin air, it's money the other members of Second Life are selling (in the case of GOM) or have sold (in the case of IGE).

Nevermind the rampant fraud on Ebay, or the slow turnaround, or the limited amount of volume you can do.

Why not try www.gamingopenmarket.com instead?

There have always been a few L$ for auction on eBay... Usually by people that don't know about GOM or IGE. The auctions don't do very well. The market is too dynamic.
