Ebay ratings and SL ratings

I am bored and sitting here flipping through Ebay pages and it seemed to dawn on me how similar in some respects that Ebay ratings are the same as SL ratings.

You can neg rate, you can neutral, you can positive. You don't have to really do much other than be a seller or buyer. You can create fake accounts and continue to abuse people who annoy you (sound familiar?).

If your account gets canceled, make a new one and start all over again! (sound familiar?)

Life on Ebay seems very similar to SLs, ratings and rantings. People interacting with people.

I'm damn bored...

I dont use Ebay, but I have looked at the ratings. One thing that is very different is that the comments that go along with the ratings are frequently very descriptive. If they love you or hate you, they will describe it on Ebay in no uncertain terms.

In SL, you can just be standing there not doing a damn thing and get a uncommented rating for no apparent reason.

Believe it or not EBay use to be the same way back when it was a young thing on the internet. They've since fixed and cleaned it up somewhat. Makes me wonder if SL will repeat that down the line.
