I'm missing out on a family gathering/barbeque. :(

My uncles (who are visiting from another state) served in the military and I can't even go and see them.

This really sucks...

There can be no gain without pain.

Sometimes sacrafices like this are necessary, at least that's what I keep telling myself. I started my own business in a mall, and of yet I only have one employee who works one day a week, but this week because I was getting married he worked 2 days for me :-) I work all day long, 12 hours from 9:30 to 9:30 M-Sat and sunday's from 11:00 to 6:30. It sucks but I will get fined more than a days revenue if I leave the store unattended for even one hour.

Monday I came to work, left for a few hours to get married, then came back, left for a few hours to take my family out to eat, then came back. We held the reception on Saturday to fit everyone elses schedule so I had to work untill 5:00, be at the reception at 6:00 and then come back at 9:00 to close the store. And now today is memorial day and I too am not with my family who are all here from all over the country.

It sucks but this is the way it will be untill I can afford more employees. Surviving requires painfull sacrafices sometimes, and the higher your goals the more you sacrafice.

I lucked out today, but sometimes I have to work on holidays.
Last September we were super busy (working six 10 hour days each week). We did get labor day off, but we had to come in the Sunday before it so we wouldn't loose any time.
Thank goodness the coffee is delicious and plentiful there :)
