Objects missing in Gourdneck

I have a 64 sq. meter plot of land in Gourdneck. Since it is in the water, I had placed a 3 prim building, 2 - 2 prim teleporters, a 1 prim day/night sensitive light, a 1 prim avatar counter, and a 1 prim particle fountain on the land last Thursday. This morning when I logged on, the building, avatar counter, and fountain were gone.

I spoke with Mick Linden this morning and he seemed to think somehow a group member deleted the objects. These were not deeded to a group nor created while I had a group active. The only avatars that might have had modify rights to the objects have not been logged on for quite some time (one of them is my wife, and one is a friend).
The building was an 8 X 8 X 5 cylinder that fit within the property lines. Even if the building were somehow too big to fit on the property, it should have been the only thing to disappear. The land allows 14 objects, and I should have only had 10 - 12.

I also asked Mick if (for some reason) a Linden could have deleted the objects. He said I would have been notified, even if something had violated the TOS. The only things I can possibly think of that would have been questionable were the particle fountain or the avatar counter. The fountain fired a roughly 100 m high burst of particles straight up every 5 minutes. This particle burst did not release many particles at once, and should not have caused any server or client issues. Since the particles were affected by wind, they may have blown across neighboring land, but should have dissipated quickly. The avatar counter merely kept a list of avatars that flew near it and emailed me the list once a day. I have had a similar counter running in Warmouth for a couple of weeks. If either of these objects had been a problem, I would think that I would have been notified or only the objects themselves would have been deleted.

Has anyone else had a similar problem? Does anyone know how I can prevent this from happening again?

Zak - do you have the create object turned on in your land options? If so, it could be that someone rezed multiple objects on your land that self deleted but before they did, your items were returned?

Are they in your lost and found folder or in the trash?

I did have Create Objects turned on, but I didn't see the objects in my trash. Although, they may have been named Object so I wouldn't necessarily have known what they were. :)
I have recreated the items and turned off Create Object. Maybe they will stay put.

I'm not sure this has anything to do with it, but it reminded me of something odd from a few days back. I have a couple Pixels (little globes that hover in the air) that turned up in my lost and found. They had apparently taken it upon themselves to shoot out of Gourdneck to the east and gone off-world there.

It was ok. I just put another set up. But it was very odd. Never happened before. I own an acre and 1/4, and was nowhere near my max allotment of prims.

That’s the only oddness I ran into in Gourdneck so far.

The last sim I was in (way down south), most of my build disappeared. It was already copied in inventory, so I didn’t lose anything, but it was also disconcerting.

Maybe completely unrelated too, but... I've seen a few odd object behaviors:

1. I have a little duck that roams the shelter aimlessly. (No joke) About every couple days, the duck goes off world for no reason. My parcel is at the edge of a sim - but nowhere near the edge of the world - and the duck's "movement range" is set only 30m.

I just end up finding it in my lost & found, put it back out - rinse/repeat.

2. I have a sign on one of my inside walls that indicates the current stream being played. It also functions as a stream-switcher if an authorized person clicks it.

Every couple weeks or so, the object moves west 1m - for absolutely no reason (which puts it thru a wall, and it looks like it disappeared). No one has permissions to move the object other than me, and its not tied to any group. Once I figured out what was going on - I just find the object in its usual spot & move it back - rinse/repeat.

Hope this is useful in some way!

Items were returned to me as well today, items that have been there for months...no explanation of why from anyone of course... *shrugs*

I'll look into the lost fountain and other stuff. I'm currently searching for the source of the bug that Rose mentioned.

The return of established objects on my land when someone rezzes something or loses a vehicle within my property lines is really beginning to piss me off. I've had things returned to me from both my home and Perilous Pleasures due to folks shoving prims onto my property or losing prim heavy vehicles there (the last episode was three identical vehicles with no creator listed. Why does it return an established older prim instead of the latest, and offending object??

Sorry..went off on a rant there..

Hope they figure it out Zak.

That's what I'm looking for David.

Zak. Did you replace the telepads and counter? I was double-checking to make sure they were gone and was a bit suprised to find them in place.

I have noticed that reparcelling land tends to cause objects to be returned, even though the land is all owned by the same entity and is nowhere near the prim limit. I saw it last year in Fuchsia and a couple weeks ago in Gray.

I replaced the building and the lower telepad.

There is a known bug (fixed in 1.6) where subdividing a group owned parcel could introduce incrorrect prim counts for land in the same sim privately owned by the officer who subdivided the group parcel.

Well, I think I live in a land like that (the new one, Meins), and I lost a Gone With the Wind Talking poster which I attributed to some error of my own, though I would never have deleted it. I'm unhappy about that.

Will I be losing other things?

Where they are going...

Hmmm. I haven't divided any land. Though I did splice a 1024 to my original acre a while back. Actually, I think the first pixel disappeared before that. I've lost two more Pixels today.

Only one seems to have announced its plight: "Your object 'dase' went off the world at <1113.37,2590.41,2639.38> in Gogebic. You can find it in your lost and found folder." That's the same sim the first one left the word in - several days ago.

That's 6 sims - and a whole lot of altitude - from where I left it.

That also seems to be a very large sim. ;-)

I always have three Pixels flying. One in the house, one out side on the large platform, and one at about 250 meters. The one up high has never disappeared. This seems to only happen to the two at ground level.

ON EDIT: Just found the second of todays missing Pixels floating at mid-altitude us against the Southern edge of the sim. Almost the opposite direction from the previous escapees.
