How would you feel about turning on the vBulletin reputation system for the SL forums? The benefit would be that it would reward insightful and funny posts while punishing rude posts or spam. The drawback would be that roving gangs of thought bullies and their requisite alts could punish posters simply because they disagree with them. (vBulletin doesn't support metamoderation, so there's no way around this right now.) Vote now! ~Ulrika~

Tyranny of the masses! Wooo! Pardon the above, but all this will do, is add another way to have the forum's groupthink maintained. Dont like your idea? Forum-negrate. -Adam

From: Adam Zaius Pardon the above, but all this will do, is add another way to have the forum's groupthink maintained. Dont like your idea? Forum-negrate. Brilliant analogy! As someone who is always up to controversy, I fear groupthink and the abuse of forum negrating as well. If we had metamoderation it wouldn't be a problem, however vBulletin unfortunately doesn't support that yet. What would you think of only allowing positive rates? One can either leave a comment as neutral or elevate it depending on its merit. ~Ulrika~

Ulrika, hun we already have enough asshats using the forums as griefing tools why institute another tool for them to take advantage of, to misalign the reputations of, others??

~Ulrika~ No offense Ulrika, but a poll with THREE "yes" options and a single "no" option... I'm surprised that "No" is actually winning! We need to get more alts in here to vote for "yes".

From: Eggy Lippmann We need to get more alts in here to vote for "yes". Hey, I voted with all of mine! This is a difficult poll, as it could be very useful in keeping roving packs of bullies at bay while improving the quality of posts. Conversely it could lead to group think and yet another another avenue of attack for negrating griefers. Pity that vBulletin doesn't support metamoderation. I'd really like to see these forums become truly conducive to productive debate without the all the STFUs and personal attacks. ~Ulrika~

As someone who feels that the website does not have enough blatant sexism, I and all of my alts are happy to endorse this feature.

From: someone I'd really like to see these forums become truly conducive to productive debate without the all the STFUs and personal attacks Actually Id like to get the forums back to where I can Call Johny Joe Dumarse what he is acting like in stead of saying and *edited* your an ...hat But thats just me then again who knows maybe the oldbie posters would come back n have fun if they had freedom of speech again instead of this censord environment we live in now.
