I'll lay it out quickly and bluntly. Why doesn't Linden Lab utilize the auction system they created on their web site to auction off the Featured Place spots? It's no different than putting a 512m2 of land up for auction starting at 1.00US. It's no different than auctioning a two month lease to the Luna Markets. Maybe the answer is obvious, but in any case, I couldn't keep 'the question' in any longer.

Because it's just an experiment and it didn't take man hours away from more important things to set it up on Ebay.

It was already announced that if the experiemnt works, it will be moved to the internal auctions. If it doens't they'll just junk it.
