Oh, thanks for sharing that, Beau. I'm a big fan of the Internet Archive -- lot of historical stuff there, although I find myself coming up a lot of broken links nowadays.

Excellent. One of the press links there is to the first article I saw about Linden World that made me want to get involved. It was almost a year later when I saw the open beta announcement on Gamespot and came running.

The article is here http://web.archive.org/web/20031124163052/webreprints.djreprints.com/00000000000000000025354001.html

OMG, articles like these have so many fabulous quotes:

From: someone
One of his favorite stops is a chalet-style house constructed by Steller, the handle for a tester who appears as an attractive, athletic-looking female sporting a bare midriff. At the moment, she is standing looking at a fireplace.

I get to find out more about what she did before my time! Yay history! :)

Beau, that link doesn't work for me for some reason.

Chip, thats a great article! Its interisting to see what future dreams were had that did come true. :)

I always find it funny to see LL's past comments on allowing users to buy into SL compared to where we are today on the subject.
