This morning, I logged on after downloading the latest client.

I received a tell from somebody who had come in world to tell me I am directly responsible for the apparent suicide of a resident. I have all the chat, there is no doubt or misinterpretation of this. SL apparenlty figured prominently in the note that was left.

He also said he is in world attempting to determine who else is responsible or "had the greatest influence". One can not help but wonder what will be done with this list.

For myself, I never knew this person. Quite some time ago, I reported a threat of violence that was directed to me (this person had gotten involved in a land dispute and decided to go overboard with threats), and never had interaction with this person again.

A linden told me to contact support or a "higher up". Like Robin or Phil. The Linden said there was nothing else that could be done by him/her.

Although extremely disappointed that such a serious matter would not be taken up and referred immediately by an LL employee, no matter what they do for LL (a "code monkey" can't determine when they should escalate somehow immediately?), I will attempt to do so today.

And yes, considering the severity of this, I would expect a response of somewhat more urgency than "send an email there's nothing more I can do".

Just another day on the grid eh?

Well...a sad situation, both in the fact that someone committed suicide, and the fact that LL wouldn't immediately step in and talk to this "list" person.

I'm sure thr person on the withc hunt is probably in emotional turmoil right now and not thinking all that clearly. That is understandable, and a liason should probably have a talk with him/her.

As to responisibilty for a suicide. Obviously, someone that would commit suicide over Second Life, has/had other issues that are the real cause. To seek to blame others, particularly anonymous people within an online "game", is not a healthy course of action, and will do nothing but cause further hurt.
