If you are one of those people who puts a bunch of snapshots into a tv in SL, or if you take are take snapshots of everything you possibly can, please contact me via IM or email (cristiano@sluniverse.com). I need some assistance and feedback on a new feature for easily sending pics and sharing with others. Thanks for any help :)

If it helps you can check out my "HiroTV" script in the Scripting Library ... It's been stress tested up to 500+ pictures. I assume you're doing something with a website, but not sure if you'll have some upload / preview feature ingame ;)

Thanks Hiro - no script needed though - it uses the SL client to submit pics to a site - no scripting involved. :)

If you have a lot of ancient screenshots, or know someone who does, please consider boxing them up and sending them to me for inclusion on the SL History Wiki :)
Also looking for ancient landmarks, event notecards, linden chat logs, etc.

Hiro,

Off topic but would you mind pointing me in the direction of the Scripting Library?

Thanks much! :)

Tried this out yesterday, awsome job Cris.

Good use of the built in tools and making them better! I love how its extremely simple to use too. And free! :D

Suggestion: If you could make the names of the people under the description and stuff for the picture clickable, working like the drop down on the left taking you to a page with that persons pictures etc. That'd be cool. :)

I didn't notice this or not though, but does the postcard send sim position too? Might be a cool feature for LL to add if not.

<-admittedly addicted to the snapshot button :D

and the Hiro TV script works wonderfuly!! Used it on the Seburo Photography Contest Gallery. All 59 copies of it works fabulously, with a few minor mods, that were easy to make :)

(touch start only and using only one side of the prim to display the photo - TY fran for the help btw)

Why do people keep advertising for other things in this thread?

I agree that it is a very clever use of the client functions. I like the concept of a SL timeline in snapshot form. Great work Cris, I will try to post a couple pics this evening. :)

Cris, this is really cool.

If anyone has struggled with displaying pictures taken from inside SL on the web. Namely the conversion from from tga or bmp to jpeg, you will LOVE this!

I think the ease and immedicacy of your method will result in some very interesting glimpses of SL.

Good work! :)

One of my few quibbles is that there does seem to be a rather degrading type of conversion as the JPGs are finally sent to one's emailbox -- lots of artifacts all around for the sake of filesize. This isn't configurable at present (to my knowledge, please let me know if otherwise!). But for quick-n-handy posting, it's definitely a great Second LifeStream. :D

Also, images still don't work on my aggregator (bloglines.com). They show up as Broken Red X's. :( Any idea why?

Torley,

I am going to talk to LL about the JPEG compression - I don't like the end effect either, I have always hated that about them. Also, as far the RSS and your aggregator, RSS is not made for image display anyway. I'll keep experimenting for you though :)

Yay Torley it is working for you now :) BTW, sorry to be so obtuse in this thread, I just don't want to fully release what it is yet while it is in testing.
