depends on who's selling it- your system config is going to factor in a LOT more than what's in it. as far as price goes... well, computer systems are getting cheaper by the day. but like i said, if it's a DELL or a Gateway... think twice. the people who set your computer up are dependent on you calling them a gazillion times for tech support when the thing asplodes all the time. be wary of your brands. better idea would probably be to find an independent computer store that has good recommendations and get them to build you one.

I'd go for the 2.8 and double the RAM rather than the 3.4. Another 256MB of RAM's about $40 and a 2.8 with 512 RAM performs about the same as a 3.4 with 256MB of RAM.

I'd say those graphics cards are grossly underpowered, but seeing what some people have done with equal and less, I'm amazed at how human drive can really push the technological limitations.

I like seeing prices pushed lower... even Trump appreciates a good deal! I'd hypothetically like to have a dedicated computer, even a laptop, running SL 24/7 (or some sort of "sleep inworld" mode to cut bandwidth consumption so that I'm not inefficiently sucking Lindenjuice). If the login process was sped up in the future to 5-10 seconds, that'd facilitate immersion even more.

I would go with the 3.4 with some more ram (I like to get the shiniest I can afford). Can you get it with at least a 5700 card? They aren't that much more than the 5200 and perform much better in SL.
