I can't either and haven't been for awhile. Sometimes when they have this issue, you just have to keep trying and wait and let it hang and see if it logs you in and check under the Linden announcements and in "technical" to see if anything is going on.

I had this issue earlier, took me about 10 mins waiting at connecting to region to get in...

It's also happened to me a couple of times. I'll be in-world, and have to relog for some reason or another. Then, when I try and log back in, the login stalls.
I've found that restarting solves the problem. Even still, performance in SL seems to have declined significantly for me in the last couple of days. I'm not sure whether it's a problem with my setup or there's, though.
