Complainers. I hate them. I don't read the forums everyday. Ok probably about 4 times a week. When I do, I read them in the morning or if I am in game and want help with a script. Or when I shamelessly plug my products. One thing I have noticed. When a new version of SL is coming out. Linden Labs gives ample amount of time for beta testing to the players before the version goes gold (live) I myself is guilty of not being involved in that aspect. I should beta test every version. I think every player should. Why. Well. Then you know what you are getting. The feedback Linden Labs receives from the testers is only about 5 percent of the SL population. Where are the other 95 percent? In the live version. To wrapped up into what they are doing to take a few minutes to test and give feedback. That is all they are asking for , a few minutes of feedback. What Linden does not tell us is how long they tested the Alpha version. For all we know, Version 1.6 was in Alpha for 6 months. I don't think we want to know all the bugs they had to work on, it would probably make our heads spin backwards.

What really gets me. Are the people that complain "SL Sucks" "SL is broke." I roll my eyes when read these posts. Yes there are bugs with every game you play. Its all zeros and ones , yet we are human and we make errors. Sometimes the zeros and ones don't want to add up they way you want and...well.. LOL you get the bugs in the game. Every hardcore gamer knows this.. It happens. The Lindens are well aware of these issues. But if everyone took a moment to beta test... Maybe you really have a right to bitch if something is wrong... If you didn't test it... then why complain. Just like an election. You cant complain about the person elect getting into office if you did not cast a ballot in the first place. Something to think about.

Just a lil rant from me :)

PS: On another note. congrats to Linden Labs for a fantastic product and continuously updating and improving.

AGREE. It's a miracle Second Life works at all, and even moreso that we're all connected together here... Lindens have to work so hard and get so many things ironed out, and on top of that, there are people in the world who don't even have a computer or a home, let alone a Second Life. :(

Thanks for writing that Tya, it was beautiful. And oh yeah I hope to be visiting Atlantis soon. :)

The thing that gets me about the "Fix This!!!" isn't the fact that they're having problems but the attitude that the problems are the result of deliberate negligence and lazieness of the Lindens, as if they're goofing off instead of trying to solve problems. New releases spawn all sorts of unexpected bugs, and I'll bet they're super busy trying to put out all the fires.
And their reward for their extra work?
A bunch of childish posts like "I demand compensation for my 10 minutes where I couldn't log in!!! " or "You obviously don't care about serving the customer!! :( "

I remember a similar phenominum when I worked retail in a small (but busy) shop. If someone called in sick, we'd have three people scrambling to do the work that four people normally did. We were doing more work, but all some customers noticed was that service was slower (admittingly, an annoying thing) and assumed it was due to our laziness or lack of concern for customer service. Nothing like trying to serve five people at once and being scolded for it.

i demand compensation for the hours where i couldn't have logged in if i had actually been home to try logging in which i wasn't but that's not the point. the point is if i had been home i wouldn't have been able to log in because of the deliberate negligence and lazieness of the Lindens and therefore i demand compensation.

yeah the ones i love are where they basically say the Lindens hate them and don't want them to be able to play. then they stick around and keep paying.
