This is a special thanks to the person who took advantage of the group mods bug that seems to have reappeared in the LindenWorld sims.
Just because you find an object with group permissions on, doesn't mean you have the right to take/steal/mod/delete stuff.
I am not speaking out of my ars here. Lyn and I have been working on her rollercoaster since a few days after LW opened.
So to keep it all in her name I make things and release them to her(yes I know she claims them cuz I only do so while she is there, and I verify that it was taken.)
Ok yes it would be on our shoulders to double check that mods arent active, but its just sick that someone would come by, and seeing that its a work in progress or even something that obviously is supposed to be there, and delete it!
So this next part is for the feature suggestions:
If an object is released for claim, the group mods should not be set default active when someone reclaims it.
So everyone else in LW beware, we have a theif/vandal.

Of course it happened to me, because I've gotten away with it for so long... The ONLY complicated/working/moving/unsaved part of my build got deleated. And, in my idiocy, I didn't even save the script. I didn't save it mostly because Charlie made it for the ride, and I didn't want to be tempted to misuse it. I could re-make the car... it only took about half an hour... it's the script that I'm mad about. Random prims in my plot have group perms on them, and I never turned them on... now it's completely unlikely that I'll be able to open on time... I have to leave soon, and I won't be back til tomorrow, and I come IW to start everything up, and it's gone... Hours and hours of testing went into it too... :^x *kill*

Well the coaster is up and runnin now Works fairly well only a few bugs. Thanks for the inworld responce to this post from those who did This was ment as a warning to those who tak pride and effort in their builds so they don't get blasted too, and as a rant on my part . No matter who builds what, its disgusting seeing builds getting ruined by others. Its a shame it happens, and that it happened to Dio, I am currently helping him rebuild. The new script is better than the old one I made him, so in some ways its a blessing in disguise kinda, but hard to look at it that way when stuff gets ruined.

I should probably tell you that there is at least one maliscious person out there who would intentionally alter your stuff if they're able to.
I once left four "Lamp from Help" objects inside my cabin, not knowing they were set to be publicly editable by default. Someone came along while I was away, and burried them all under my cabin. If I hadn't noticed that two of them were slightly sticking up out of the ground in front of the cabin, I probably wouldn't have found them.

Someone deleted some boulders from my build in Gray. I tell you, there are just a few people in this game who will do as they please if they think they can get away with it.
Like that guy who hacked my radar to make it look like it was his. I had the Lindens go after him and delete his copy. I'm surprised they didn't boot him out of the game. And this guy is a Rizal sports mentor! Goes to show an ethics violation doesn't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy mixed-up game...

Man that sux Huns . Sry to hear. And some people wonder why things in society are the way they are. ie. car alarms, locks, laws, and anything else oppressive in nature. I just don't get it, why can't people be content with getting things by deserved means? Heh I know a whole nother thread lol
