BTK = Bind Torture Kill

This bastard killed 8 people and has managed to elude and toy with the authorities and local media for 31 years.

Makes me shudder to think that it is possible in this age of technology and forensics to get away with this, although he did do his dirty work in the 70's and 80's, before DNA evidence was available and allowed in a court of law. He resurfaced last March and has been active again in the past few weeks.

Whoa! What a creepy story. I hope they catch him before he hurts any more people. I wander what gets into someone's head that he thinks torture and murder is fun? Is it some wacked-out power trip? A case of "I may be a plain nobody loser in a wrinkled shirt but I choose who lives and who dies! I control! etc.."? I don't get it.

Hopefully this spate of communications from him in the last year will lead to his demise.

As for the motivations, I do not understand cruelty, so I for one cannot provide an adeqate answer. Maybe at some point the perpetrator(s) just say "fuck it", and stop caring about other human beings lives anymore and possibly their own as well, not sure. In a case like this I think maybe he rather enjoys the media coverage and subsequent notoriety, given the way he is toying with the authorities and media.

Yeah, I've been following this story for a year now. Really sad.
They do have DNA evidence, but haven't found him yet. Also, as far as is known he has not killed anyone since the mid 80's, but has been communicating with police and the media... taunting them.

Down with the death penalty!

People like this can't be fixed and need to be removed from society by means of death!

Richard Speck murdered 8 nurses and lived out his life in prison...drinking, doing drugs, growing breats and getting fucked up the ass by his boyfriends. Feloow inmates even videotaped these things and Specks admission that he has a great life.....

Sorry people like this need not exist...preferably they should be killed in the manner they killed their victims so they can know the terror and fear that was felt.
