LOL! The Bush administration is such a bunch of hypocrites it defies belief. I'm not in the least bit surprised by this. I find it quite hilarious actually.

I'm suprised none of our ultra right or left wingers have had anything to say on this yet.

No big suprise. This administration bases all thier choices on how much money they, and thier campaign contributors, can make.

In all fairness, Chip, this appears to have also been the policy of the Clinton administration.

From: someone

"We had a great amount of cooperation with the Jordanians on the intelligence side, and with the Turks as well, so we were getting value out of the relationship," said Walker, who served in both the Clinton and Bush administrations.

The memos obtained by CNN explain why both administrations waived restrictions on U.S. economic aid to those countries for engaging in otherwise prohibited trade with Iraq.

Somedays I feel like I need to break out a set of Tupperware to demonstrate the concept of containment.

The reasons why we allowed a limited oil trade are the same friggin reasons why we didn't need to invade the conutry and start this bullshit war on...fuck if I know what the reason is today. Maybe one of you Pubs (not to be confused with Pugs which is derogatory and hateful towards dogs) could fill in the blank for this week.

I agree as far as it goes, but I think the sanctions shouldn't have been there in the first place.

Collective punishment for a population based on the actions of their government, is one way to define terrorism.

Well after reading the article I am convinced of one thing.
Whenever a scandal breaks it will ALWAYS be the fault of the sitting administration. That's all I've got to say about that.

Yeah, and continued by the Bush administration, who then feigned moral outrage over abuse of the oil-for-food program. Everything having anything to do with the United States and Iraq involves a shitload of politicians talking out of both sides of their face.

Well we did do the nose... uh, and the hat... but she's a witch!
