sounds like people who get into this maybe get paid but you definitely get a finished house with full permissions. how is that a good deal for builders?

Don't want to give too many details. Right now, we need some houses to be built according to some plans that are given on the site. It's a competition, whoever wins will get paid very well!

"All models/objects construsted in whole or part from these plans/pictures are the property of Gigas Group." (think you meant constructed)

umm... Thats quite a statement of copyright ownership you got there. Which i find very strange; because as the copyright holders i would have thought you would have auto-rezzed the houses from the CAD drawings used to render the sample pictures. More over i would have thought you would at least provide readable floor plans. Makes one wonder if you can legally make such claims to derivative works.

This reeks of being a scam.

until the rules are fleshed out I advise nobody participate.

It's not really a competition if you're keeping (and possibly selling) all of the submitted entries. Accepting no-mod/no-transfer entries sounds more fair to the builders, so they know you won't make money if the builder doesn't get paid.

Heh. If you want my builds, you'll have to interview with me. And that's a good attitude for any builder to have.

I am witheveryone else in this thread, especially Milo.

Only accepting FULL PERMISSION builds as merely "entries" is really unneccesary, and unwise on the builder's behalf.

I'll flesh it out somewhat.

The entries will be (if accepted - if not; they remain the property of those who created them. If accepted, they are not to be used/resold/transferred elsewhere, and the reward following is offered; hence transfer of IP ownership.) used in a rental system. When renting land from the particular trust that is being setup, the renter is given a 'free' home with the land. 10% of the rental fees (approx. L$350/month per house used, this varies with land size however, and may be adjusted as the GOM/IGE exchange changes.) will be given to the person who developed the house design they will be using. (there will be a large number of the rental plots availible as well - so a good build should be able to work in a healthy profit each month.)

-Adam

Edit:
I should probably also point out that a few people have already submitted work which will be used in this project. Lordfly & Lisse are among them. There will also be spots opening for texture artists & modellers shortly.

Why do the entries have to be full perm?

Is that 10% of the L$350 a month? So L$35 a month per house that's used goes to the builder?

I wasnt aware that they do. I'll update the rules accordingly. Final accepted submissions will however need to be full perm, but that is to be expected.

(Done)

No, that's L$350 (approx.) going to the builder. (nb: as stated above, this may vary)

Wow, OK, so if that's 10% of the renting fee that's L$3500 to rent one of these places a month? Yipes.

It will end up cheaper than that by a decent margin, but the builders will be rewarded. (We are aiming to be considerably cheaper than the equivilent LL land tier - and provide some unique features)

More details will arrive soon. :)
