I've read some of the considerable discussion re: the LL Teen Grid and have been intrigued by some of the remarks.

As a single-dad with two teenaged daughters - one living with me - I continue to be a survivor of the teen years! Yes, we talk to each other daily, we hug regularly, and both know I'm here if they need me. We don't hang together and my kids aren't "...my best friend." (code to other parents) :)

Both my daughters grew up with 'puters, know the net inside-out, and both practice Safe Computing. Both have been involved with some nasty-stuff that spilled into their school life, and both have learned that there are difficult situations that sometimes can spin way out of control. (you think we have drama here? pffft!! )

They have been using computers long enough to know HOW to protect themselves and how best to deal with their peers. You think they're gonna fall for male-raging-hormones? You think they don't deal with their own raging hormones? They DEAL with that everyday in RL!

Having said that - i have confidence that LL knows how to protect the Teen Grid - they're NOT stupid - and I'm just gonna wait and see how it develops.

Oh, and when I told my daughter about the new TeenGrid - know what she said?

"That's nice dad!"

ROFLOL!!

Bravo. :D It is better to be a responsible parent than the "cool dad" on the block. Your kids will thank you later. I do not have children but I do remember way back in the old days us girls were just as hormone crazy as the boys. We just didn't have physical evidence of our err hormonal surges ;).
