In an interview on CNet Bill Gates, the worlds richest man, described all who do not support ever-increasing intellectual property laws as "communists". Sounds like corporate McCarthyism to me. :(

LOL! Like Bill should talk. He's a corporate gangster and dirty dealer. If it's a choice of doing business like he does, or being a commie, I'll take the red pill please.

You know, as a communist, I'm not real thrilled the way 'communist' is a dirty word just bandied about. I suppose it could be worse, I could be a fascist, and THEN think how I'd feel  Anyway, that being said, I think he has a point. I know i don't support intellectual property laws (different topic) but under a communist system, creations would belong to the state (i.e. the people) rather than to corporations or individuals. In that sense, he's right, people who don't believe in him owning shit-all belive in a community system, which is what communism is.

I think Microsoft products at times get more flak then they deserve. But having read pretty much the entire timeline of Microsoft as a corporation, I don't think it's possible to give them too much flak. ;)

Agreed. But it sure was fitting that Bill and crew got a few Windows 'glitches' during a keynote speech. Read article. I laughed when I read that. Just desserts baby!

Hmm...this from the guy who has this operating system...that you buy...that will not activate if you have had to change hardware and reformat five times...

Didn't he make like 50 billion off of 3.1 and 98, which never had such draconian measures?
Maybe he is shooting for 150 billion...
