Hey, I went to Neverland, great stuff, very good atmosphere. Anyways, I was wondering, since the recent hype of copyright and trademark laws, isn't neverland copyrighted at all? Even if it isn't making money, doesn't it make money off dwell (if it applies to this sim) or is being used to attract people to SL without the permission of the people who own the rights to peter pan or what not?

I might be mistaken (taking a total stab here), but Neverland may very well be public domain.
Disney has a habit of taking public domain stories/myths and turning them into blockbuster movie type dealies. Maybe Hook/Neverland/etc. is public domain, ripe for the pickings. LF _____________________

The Spellbound Team went to great lengths to make sure nothing in Our Version of Neverland had any copywritten material. We make no money from dwell, we were not reimbursed for any cost to us in up load fees. Everything was given to all of SL for no monitary gain.

Here is a page from Ask.com containing information about Peter Pan and any copyrights that might still be in effect.
Here's a quote from this page: "It is a common misconception that Walt Disney Corporation owns the copyright to Peter Pan. What they own is the copyright to their cartoon adaptations of Peter Pan and the copyright to their 1927 silent-movie screen adaptation." |
