First, the best think about Second Life is it's diversity. There's something magical about going from an island full of statues to a shopping mall to a roleplaying game to a skydiving comeptition. I don't care how mad, strange, silly, ugly, fun or pointless.. it's all welcome in my book.
That being said I revel in seeing great content being made. Sim Horror and Spitoonie are two builds that come to mind (but I am sure there are more, I just don't get out much!) and I think these builds add a LOT to Second Life.
But I also think we content people don't share enough tips and advice. There have been rumblings of groups and so on and I think it is about time we made one! I propose a new group SECOND LIFE CONTENT MAGIC ..or something.
This content group would be made up of people whos fun in SL is to build stuff and to see other people play with their stuff (er, shush Willow!). People like Mark and I, Bedazzled, Cubey and many others. The aim would be to provide a bit of community, a one-stop place to ask for advice, help, ideas, testing and cross-promotion and to provide some new friendships.
The group wouldn't be about amalgamating all the existing teams and groups under my bening leadership, but would act more like a trade or industry advocacy group. Hell, we might all build a promotional office one day!
I'm already keen to share some lessons learned from DarkLife and to figure out some best practices. I bet we all have some interesting stuff to share (ban lists for startters
)What do folks think?
And anyone got a better name? heheh.
