I just spoke with a SL trial user who told me he's been playing Uru Live: Ages Beyond Myst in beta for three months. He said that Ubisoft is pulling the plug on the game before it got out of beta. He claims there are about 2,000 beta members. He seemed thrilled with SL and said he will be posting a link to it on their forums to encourage other Uru Live people to try it out.

http://uru.ubi.com/us/about.php is the main Uru Live site.

http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/6/ubb.x?a=tpc&s=400102&f=7441034&m=140109481 is the forum post notifying players that the game is being discontinued.

Actually its been out of beta for a bit, saw it in Wal-Mart a few weeks ago. Unless that was just the single-player version. But at least they will be putting out content for the single-player game.

I was in beta for about a month.

That's sad. I'm very surprised that they only gave it 3 months. You almost can't expect ANY internet business to take off in such a short period of time. Hopefully SL will get some of the fallout from it though.

I never really got on the Myst bandwagon, but the times I did see it, it seemed pretty cool. It will be interesting to see if some of those hardcore players came to SL and begin making Myst-like puzzle games.

Uru, the game will continue. It's the on-line version they discontinued. Not enough projected subscribers they said.

Thanks, Dev, sorry I wasn't clear about that.

Considering that Ubisoft is completely incapable of running an online game, it's probably a good thing }:->

Sure that wasn't just the single player game?

It could have been just the single-player version, I didn't look at it closely. I guess they might have made it to where you could download the online part of it, when it was ready.
