I just heard Second Life reviewed on XM radio on the Dave Ross Chiptalk segment (they play it during the commercial breaks on on all the stations). http://chiptalk.com/linkpage.htmI couldn't find anything detailed on the web page. Just the mention.

Portal visits DaBoom
05-19-2003 12:02
Last night I was watching "Portal" (a show about online gaming) on G4TV (a network dedicated to videogames). They mentioned Second Life a couple times then did a several minute skit in-game, at the Disco in DaBoom.
The "establishment shot" of the Disco was taken from over Leonardoe's place, with Darque Grimm's crypt visible just beyond. It was filmed at least a few weeks ago because an empty field was visible where my place is now.
I was, of course, in SL at the time so it was surreal seeing it on TV too.

I've submitted an article proposal for a pretty beefy MMORG mag, we'll see.

I've never been in a press shot. I don't think I'm even in any of the screenshots on the web site, though there are a few articles of clothing I've made.

Second Life is featured in the current issue of PCGamer magazine. Just a one-paragraph entry in a survey of the 2003 crop of online games, but hey, publicity is publicity. And the coverage is favorable.

SL coverage

Also - make sure to periodically check out the "Reviews" page - under "About Second Life" on the website. We try to keep that pretty current - the Slate link is posted there, as well as a nifty radio piece on ChipTalk.

Friends, Lifers, Residents, lend me your Avatars!
06-04-2003 15:20
...be they blue, green, short, tall, fat, thin, alien, or human. Wednesday, Nada, Datura, and Darwin -- now's your chance to be featured, not just in press screenshots, but on SL t-shirts and posters. All you have to do is lend me your avatars for use in a photo shoot. I promise that we will treat them with dignity and respect, and we will delete them from our inventories once we're done. For more info, see this post in Announcements.
