1.2 - Dwell complicates SL

With dwell being converted to RL $ is just creates a huge complication that many of us come to SL to get away from: The finances of Couples.

Now those of us who do things as a couple, will have to talk about "how we split dwell" and exchange personal information that some may not wish to do for compensation. And compensating someone inworld with L$ instead of RL$ isnt excactly fair since the conversion is like $3.20 u.s. to $1000 Linden.

I just wish the RL$ aspect had been left out. Its much easier to see that you recieved 200 $L in dwell for the week and then split that with your partner(s) than having to deal with RL transfferal of RL$.

Im sure soon we will see posts about "So and so took off with our dwell $".

Lindens - can we have an option to have dwell paid out in $L instead of RL$?

In 1.2, dwell is paid out in L$, not RL$. Some people received developer incentive payments from LL that were chosen by how much dwell they had, but there is not a direct relationship. They have said they will use other criteria to determine the developer incentive bonuses, not just dwell. I have some issues with dwell as well, but so far it has not resulted in a massive popularity contest, and I hope that continues. Your dwell payments will continue as they do now, they might be slightly higher, but will still be in L$.

PS - they have also stated that the conversion of L$ to RL$ will not be a direct conversion, as in I get x # of dollars for how much L$ I have. They haven't provided more details than that though.
