Specail SL Fansite Hosting Plan

How would you guys like this:

What if you could get a specail ScenicNet plan for Lifers? The plan would include a free phpBB installation with a message board, and a nice template if you so desire, all for a discounted price. All you need is your SL name.

Would you guys dig that?


BTW: if there are any current Lifers with scenicnet accounts, and I know there's a couple, we can transfer if you guys dig this.

Count me in Darwin. I am in need of a smallish site to support an SL project. What would be really cool is if we could avoid a new Top Level Domain for everything: e.g. tan.slfans.org, taber.slfans.org, vinfiz.slfan.org, jeff.linden.slfan.org, etc.

what kinda bandwith and storage are we talking about ?

Well, I can't tell you the details yet. I'm still in the proccess of convincing everyone that SL is a large player base, but I'm guessing it will be rather fast with maybe 10MBs of storage for a really kick-ass price, if we do indeed go with the top level domain idea.

If not, it'll be a domain you own (and have to pay for) with more speed, less storage, slightly higher price (still a lot less than the Basic Plan), and of course you own the domain

Okay, so the top level domain is a good thing? I have a better idea:

1. Get the United Nations to recognize SecondLife as a soverign state.
   
2. Get the ISO to assign a standard country code to the new state.
   
3. Have ICANN establish a new top level domain for the nascent country.

   Oops, I just noticed that .sl is already registered as a TLD. Let me add:
   
   1a. Get the UN to revoke the membership of Sierra Leone.
   
   

I'd love to be part of this if the top level domain thing happens - the BTAC needs a site, communicaiton tools in game just aren't quite up to what I think we're capable of!
