A while ago I complained that the problem of seamless sim transitions had not really been solved, since scripted attachments would cease to work for up to twelve seconds after a crossing.
It seems that this problem has indeed been solved. Scripts never seem to take more than a second or two to catch up, even in heavily populated regions.
I would like to thank Linden Lab for resolving this, as it makes the game much more playable for people who like to move around with the help of either attachments or (as is increasingly popular) vehicles.

I still have that problem with the Chopper Hoverboard 1.2.2 . I rezzed in oak grove tried to fly south but I stopped at the border. When I moved it with edit I worked, but when I stepped on at the next sim and try to cross even more south it again stopped...

I have to agree Huns, sim crossing is much improved. Much improved!
Good work there Lindens :)
Mark, occasionally I get that (although not recently but I haven't been crossing sims while scripted too much lately). Problem seems to be like you cross over but are on a bad (non-existing) position, like -2,256 or something simliar. Typically happens to me when going *very slow* and crossing over the sim line.
My only suggestion, try to cross a little faster, and don't tap the backwards key heh.

Whow, Darwin thats amazing, actually switching servers from inside the same program! Because I never did the same thing with IE, or mIRC, or UT, or... or... just about any client software for any sort of protocol! Yes, its amazing how that sort of thing can actually work

What's really amazing is I've been wearing the same underpants since beta. (in game that is, I change my rl "lucky beta" undies last week).
AND I've changed servers multiple times with said undies.
Amazing! Bos

Oh come on, you know what I mean This is a streaming world; it's not kept on the users hard drive. Chainging sims in SL is kind of being on MSN, able to see to Google, Microsoft, and Slashdot, then being able to go to Slashdot without waiting for it to load. We're not just changing servers, we're transfering OURSLEVES with it, not just an IP address. Well, it is an IP address, but an avatar too, with attachments. And then there's being able to calculate where the sim is compared to where the other sim is, and then being able to transfer those calculations, and then being able to do the same with vehicles and physics, etc...

I think what Mark is talking about is a quirk in the new vehicle system. Yes, it could use some work.
The deal is that if the vehicle collides with something (such as a sim boundary, even if you're 50 meters in the air), or a mountain or whatever, sometimes a failsafe will be triggered that will disable physics on the object. You might be going fast or slow, it doesn't matter.
Hopefully they will do something about that, along with fixing the buggy vehicle camera.
