Fairplay Poker Tables

I was curious if anyone had fairplay texas holdm poker tables disapeared?? i am mighty pissed off that my boyfriend invested 50k into this table and to log in and find it GONE from his land if they have all disapeared why mr Fairplay have you not spoken about this in the forum or to contact the people whom have invested into your tables on what the issue was...

I have no knowledge of this situation but it is possible that 1.6 could have completely borked his scripts and he was forced to redo his tables to safeguard his creation. It often happens that the Lindens' changes and patches take no consideration of players' creations heavily dependent on scripts. I don't know if the Lindens ever get together the major script makers and walk through possible impact with them in any systematic way, but I have seen it happen time and again that each new game patch borks the scripts and they need to be tweaked.

Given who is involved, it does not surprise me at all. Good luck on getting it resolved Aces.

This is probably due to the known issue (we don't have "bugs" here) that causes objects with llSetText to disappear and/or not rez if they have text starting with a return character.


edited to add that LL has stated that this will be fixed in 1.6.1

Oh, I just wanted to add that Mr Fairplay started a conference with all customers he had the calling card of yesterday to talk about this issue. It's a bug converting scripts with settext starting with \n in 1.6.

If you contact Linden support they can fix it for you. I know they did for some.

he is on my list of contacts and i did not have any record of the conversation, not saying this is all not true but when 50k is involved i tend to get a lil freaked, i asked Mr Fairplay to make a statement in this thread regarding the problem.. well lol now we can see how much he really cares about the issue at hand... if this was my table bug or not i would have liked an explanation on why my fucking table disapeared 50k is a lot of money..

I'm not involved in this issue in any way, really. But in fairness, this bug was really nasty. It killed a lot of stuff, and it took a while to figure out exactly what was going on. Don't be too harsh on people because of this bug. The Lindens are to blame for this one.

Those who didn't test their s--- in preview are also to blame. If that table had been tested, the bug would have been discovered and LL would have had time to fix it. Really, anyone who does serious scripting work owes it to their customers to test stuff out in preview as much as they can. I found some really significant broken stuff in preview and gave LL a test object that would hit the bugs (complicated ones) consistently, and also discovered the thing about the new name boxes interfering with my jet's HUD. So I hit the ground running when 1.6 went live.

yes that is true maybe it should have been tested in preview.. we had just bought the table 2 weeks before the upgrade.. beside something disapearing in my inventory after i picked up something and that friggin texture bug i have no gripes with the client i still would have liked mr fairplay to make some sort of statement on the tables like he said he would, and the progress of them getting back... I will NOT just go away mr fairplay that's 50k on the line i will not disapear toodles

Thanks for posting this thread. I was just considering buying one of these. Sounds like quality control problems. Maybe he works for LL.

well it's been a week and still mr fairplay has not updated me or others on the tables..everyday that passes it seems more and more like a scam i should have trusted my better judgement.. and i still will not go away mr fairplay

Sorry, the fact that these things sell for 50,000L and come from One Song aka Mr. Fairplay, and that there is suddenly controversy over them disappearing with little cooperation from the seller does not surprise me in the slightest. The higher the payout, the more of a chance of a scam, and since Linden Lab has shown they will not get involved in L$ fraud within SL, what honestly would the repercussions be?

Yes, the Texas Hold 'Em tables were affected by the "floating text parse error" bug and vanished at the 1.6 rollout. I wrote some scripts to scan the pre 1.5 backups and find all of the affected objects and came up with a list of affected sims. I've been manually bringing the poker talbes back this week as avatar traffic allows. Today I had brought all of them back except a few (such as the one in Eaton because there appears to be a 24/7 Tringo event there). And then there was the one in Baku that belonged to Mr Fariplay which was lost again... but that is a another story.

If you're still missing a poker table, or some other object then please send me an IM stating the name of the sim affected, that's all I need, and I'll try to bring them back.

The "floating text parse error" is currently preventing some objects from being pulled out of inventory, however the 1.6.1 will fix it, and it is supposed to start going out tomorrow morning. After 1.6.1 is rolled out those objects will be rezzable again.

My table will not rez out of inventory.

The reason the Poker Table still does not rez from inventory is that 1.6.1 has been postponed until Thursday the 7th of April.

Personally after one not so fun incident back when I was brand new, I don't do business with people who have the last name Fairplay
