Skype is a VOIP service which provides free service for other skype users. So if you want to call someone Skype To Skype costs nothing. You can contact me at RyenDeckard.

Post your information here!

Skype is a great VOIP, and works very good in game with one or two other people. But I think most people will tend to think like Arwen, I know I do. It's not that I am against giving it out, but only to people that I have met a few times in game, or one of my freinds gives a good recommendation.

ummm ... I refer to this link by christiano midnight. Just installed the software teamspeak however, it doesnt connect me at all. Skype looks interesting, but what makes it superior as compared to msn audio or ymsg?

Compared to Teamspeak, Yahoo or any other voice program I have ever used, Skype is CRYSTAL clear. Sounds like you are right there in the room with them! :)

For one,Skype don't lag nothing at all and is clear as a bell (even my phone at times can't say that always). Skype is a great program and is perfect for SL. I just wonder how many people can use it at the same time in a conferance? I have yet to have more than 4 people total use it at once, so I am not too sure what the limit is or not. In either case, check the program out; I'm sure you'll like it...

Yea I think 5 is the limit.... haven't tried more than that either... but I have been on Teamspeak channels with 20+ users and it gets really chaotic! LOL

I am not sure why you had difficulty connecting - I just posted a detailed tutorial on using the server here:

I personally don't like Skype - it lags the hell out of my computer. It is interesting how each person seems to experience something different with each voice chat application. Yahoo is flaky, Ventrillo creeps me out with the text to voice thing, and Skype sucks out all my bandwidth for some reason. Teamspeak is the only one I've found that I really like.

I would love Skype, if it didn't make my SL freeze up over and over. I was told by a friend that the combination doesn't work for some users, but I haven't been able to figure out why, even after Googling around and searching the forums here.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? And has anyone figured out how to overcome it? I truly enjoyed being able to speak to the people I was in the room with, also hearing the sound of the hot tub in my ears (wearing a headset with mic). But I didn't enjoy having to CTRL-ALT-DEL out of SL over and over again when it seized up.

(I'm on a PC running Win XP. Cable net connection. 2.4 GHz, 768MB RAM, GeForce 4 MX420.)

I have TeamSpeak installed, but its been awhile since I've used it. I haven't been in SL much the last few months anyway.
