Repeat of Spain? What was it, 2003? I recall seeing a terrorist video being played saying something about is so and so is elected the U.S. will get attacked. I don't recall hearing who the so and so was, but I believe this proves a point. Something, somewhere, somehow there's something going down really really dirty. These scare tactics have to STOP, if we want true Democracy to prevail. Personally, I think its a mass conspiracy of some kind. The timings are too aligned to be anything else, but alas that's my opinion.

Thoughts? Comments?

On Tuesday they arrested some wacko in Jackson Tennessee for attempting to acquire chemical weapons (sarin nerve gas), explosives and weapons of mass destruction with the intent to attack official buildings. This guy wasn't Islamic, he was an American born neo-nazi.

It's my opinion that no matter how invasive into day to day life our government becomes, some day one of these wacko's is going to fly under the radar and succeed with their plan, just as Timothy McVeigh did. All we are accomplishing with our "Patroits Act" and "Total Information Awareness" is setting up the ability for someone like McVeigh to get elected into office and easily take over our government.

Unfortunately there will never be a shortage of people who hate and are willing to kill to prove it.

As citizens we have some personal responsibility in this - to think beyond the fear, weigh safety against freedom and privacy and to apply the least invasive, best solutions or to at least elect leaders who will do so. Those that act as opposed to react. Unfortunately - all I have witnessed from our leaders is massive reactions that have lead to massive mistakes and massive amounts of money being mis-spent.

So I have to ask - why? What is the gain in perpetuating fear?

I leave you with the question.

I'm 100% with you on that, though I should say "media machine" - the top 6 networks. One day America is going to puke up all that pabulum they are feeding us and demand real food. (hopefully) ...

WTF?? I work in the media and I DON'T MAKE SHIT!

Fear, doom and gloom, do sell.. but I don't see that dollar at the end of the day... it's all anchors and CEO's.

actually unless you're in front of a desk while being behind a camera you don't make shit.
The people who actually make shit happen get paid very very little (at least in markets under 20)

Gonna be like a Lakers championship...

That is - no matter who wins there will be a riot..
As for me I hit up the Australian Consulate and have already written my 'GET ME THE F*CK OUTTA HERE!!!!!' email... just in case.
It's just one click away.

Siggy.

Well of course Siggy I wasn't directing that at you and I'm sure you know I was referring to the talking heads and the damned silver lined pockets of the CEO's/Owners.
